Tommy performed an inadequate job and was asked multiple times to correct mistakes before he left. He was made aware of how unhappy we were with the work. He tried to charge us extra for tool rental, which he did not disclose beforehand. The reason he had to rent tools was because he did not know where his were at. He also showed up an hour late. The carpet has gaps between the baseboards, half of it is not stuck to the tack strips, there are parts coming up over the baseboards, there are seams that not properly attached. He ruined our carpet and we will have to pay over $800 to have it replaced. He is demanding more money from us and harassing and threatening us. His LLC is inactive which we did not have knowledge of at the time of service. We paid a deposit of $331.25 and he asked for the remaining $331.25 at completion (after trying to bargain for $437). We originally paid him the remaining $331.25 via PayPal and were going to accept the loss. He then refunded us the money because we sent it as a business transaction (which it is). He asked that we send it back as friends and family for his reasoning being “Paypal will charge me extra fees and hold my money.” The refund was his idea and now he is asking for it back.Business response

I worked for this client which was not there the entire time I did the work. I worked along side her husband which he said it looked good and helped carry carpet. Half way through, her ********s ****** came in and said it looked good as well. I continued to complete the carpet install which had to be pieced together in many areas barely having enough carpet. Once I was complete the client showed up and was pointing out areas that needed to be stretched more. I stretched them more and told them we could put corner round down around each room to help hide the spots she was worried about. I have been installing carpet for 10 yrs now and never have had a complaint. Things turned south when I informed the client that I would be charging them for the tool rental and the seam tape that I used on the clients carpet. I informed them that I was not going to argue with them any longer as I felt uncomfortable. I proceeded to gather my belongings and left. The client sent the money over by PayPal as a business transaction. I informed the client that I was going to send back because I get charged for those transactions. Told the client to send back as a different transaction. The client continued to argue as I would need to charge even more to cover those charges. Unless the client sent as a different the transaction. The client then decided to pull the carpet up in various areas and take pictures. The client then stated they would not send me anymore money not even the $331.25, Which was agreed upon by contract invoice. I have took this as a loss and plan to take it to court to receive the rest of the agreed upon money. If there is any other information need please reach out. Thank you
