We paid $3000 for our son to take his ****** ****** to Murphy’s Customs. He has used this shop for 12 years and sent others there as well. They replaced a timing chain and other things. The car only ran for a few weeks before breaking down when he was taking his sons to school.A tow truck took it there and after SEVEN weeks and hardly NO contact we decided to go over and pick it up with another TOW to a local mechanic. It now needs a motor and our son is out of the $3000 we paid for a job done. It is our word against him and I can’t believe he is not standing behind his quality of work. He knows what happened! We just asked fur the money for the work. We could be asking for a motor.Business response

Vehicle was towed in, customer states engine had been making some rattling noises for a few days then shut down, we checked vehicle out and found it was 4 quarts low on engine oil. I contacted the customer and explained that the engine was low on oil and in return had lost oil pressure that supplies the timing chain tensioner that we had installed a few months before, the best we could tell is the engine had been consuming oil for some time due to high mileage and wear on internal components and we recommended replacing engine. Customer agreed and we kept in contact as we wasn't finding a low mileage used engine that I would recommend selling and installing, customer and his dad had come by and picked vehicle up to take for a second opinion then returned a couple weeks later and asked if I could make contact with other shop for explanation, customer, his dad and I made contact by phone, other shop had determined and explained the same findings as ours, customer and dad agreed and left, a couple weeks later the dad had called and asked if I was standing behind my work I stated I always stand behind my work as I am backed by a 2 year parts and labor warranty but unfortunately the problem has nothing to do with the work that was performed a few months prior.Initial Complaint

I took my new 6x12 trailer to be customized for my Italian ice business. all work was well except for the wiring. It kept cutting out at events. I had an electrician look at it, and confirmed it was totally wired WRONG. I had to pay another 1100.00 to get it fixed. I contacted Murphy's Customs, sent pictures, the bill, what the electrician had to say and asked for at least half of the electrician charges, which is only right. But, he chose to ignore and not do the right thing. He is not an electrician and should own his mistakes.Business response

The trailer repair was done in the month of April and demonstrated that everything worked upon picking trailer up. The wife did ask her husband if he was sure that he could take our work out to finish walls and put back as we had done the job, the husband said he could. I was just made aware of complaint recently through email, I asked for trailer owner to bring trailer by so I could look at it, he informed me he had someone else doing the repairs. He did send a couple of pictures which the only thing they show me is that the trailer has been taking apart completely on the inside (where our work was done) for him to refinish the walls. I can not stand behind my work when our work is taken apart then put back together by someone else.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********* and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Regards,
**** ******He only tested the breaker box running the air unit only. He knew we would be running freezers, lights, commercial sink, and fan in addition to the the air unit. You cannot run all these things on one 30amp box. This is why our generators kept kicking out and we could not run our business from our trailer. We needed an electrician to look at it, and he corrected by adding 2 additional breaker boxes and he had to REDO the wiring originally done as he stated it was done incorrectly.
I do not know what he is talking about with the walls. We did not do anything to the walls. Everything in the trailer is the same except for the additional breaker boxes and rewiring that had to be done. I initially called business owner in July after we had the money to have the rewiring done. We text after that resending pictures. We did not email. Again, the trailer is the same on the inside. It is totally UNTRUE that the trailer had been taken apart. the walls have not been touched.
He needs to stand by his electrical work and own up to it when he is wrong and not try to fabricate facts to get out of it. right is right and wrong is wrong.
