Please read this entire review before making your decision to purchase your mini Golden Retriever from this or any breeder I love my puppy. I wish I would have purchased 2 since she was on sale at half price of $3,250 instead of the original price of $6,500. If you’re interested in a mini Golden Retriever from this breeder-- 1. Wait until a half price offer 2. Request documentation on the parents, including DNA test 3. Have your prospective puppy taken to a Vet such as C*********** ****** ******** in Harrisburg, Kentucky, under your name since you will be paying 4. I had an outstanding experience with this Vet once I requested all of the testing records emailed to me instead of having them sent to the breeder. I found they not disclose the results of the parasite and larvae testing which required immediate treatment 5.Have the Vet conduct a wellness check, including testing for parasites and larvae in the puppy’s stool, report the results to you and have the Vet provide and ensure proper monitoring and treatment 6. Realize that there could be long term effects from having your puppy spayed or neutered before 6 months of age as this breeder is reported to do (check the internet and your Vet for applicable warnings) 7. Pre-schedule your puppy's wellness check at your own Vet prior to receiving the puppy to ensure you meet the breeder's 3-day requirements by 2 separate Vets should an illness such as whip worms and larvae are discovered 8. Check with your Vet regarding the hardiness of whip worm larvae. According to what I learned, the larvae once in your yard can live for 5 years 9. Additionally, my Physician tells me that the whip worms and larvae pose a danger to humans who might go into the yard barefoot. More than 2 million are believed to be infected in the United States 10. One of the first steps in purchasing your puppy is to obtain a copy of the purchasing contract before signing or sending any funds. Thanks in advance for your timeReview from Beth D

Our experience with GoldenQuest was all we hoped for. After we inquired, we received a call within 24 hrs from their "Puppy Placement Specialist" (PPS) who explained the process in great detail. The following day we put a deposit on a litter not yet born. We felt confident in the research we had done combined with the detailed information we received from their PPS. Once the litter was born, we narrowed down our choices and were given updated photos, videos, and info on the puppy that would suit our specific profile preferences. Once chosen, I was in contact with the PPS on a weekly basis & she was quick to answer questions via text. She was also very excited for us making it much more of a "family" experience rather than a "transaction". We spoke with the owner/breeder Kathy over the phone on two different occasions. Once to give us reassurance of our investment and the second time to fully explain my concerns on spaying our puppy. Her taking the time to explain things and make the effort to communicate made us confident in our decisions to move forward. The breeder performed preventions (deworming, bacterial prevention, etc) leading up to the puppy's release date. Unfortunately, a week before taking our puppy home she tested positive for a GI parasite - one that is very common for puppies cohabitating together. The GoldenQuest vet tech called and explained what it was and the antibiotics administered. This was caught during a preventative fecal test, so no symptoms were shown. I also had a chance to call our vet and she assured us this was very common among puppy litters and has no reflection on the "cleanliness" of the breeder. She was negative by the time we picked her up. When we picked up our puppy, the PPS welcomed us with excitement and explained the paperwork thoroughly. We didn't get to meet Kathy, but felt confident in speaking w/ her over the phone. Our puppy has been home for five days & besides lack of sleep - she's absolutely beautiful!GoldenQuest LLC Response

Bought a dog as a Christmas present for our 8 year old and 9 year old kids. They said it was the calmest in the bunch. Dog growled and barked at them on the first day! Kathy the owner agreed to take back the dog, I drove 3hrs to save them 6hrs on their end. Kaylie agreed on a full refund, then Kathy (the owner) said she would not return over $2000 in travel costs! We are now fighting for any response of refund. Beyond devastated about how they are choosing to handle this situation. Definitely did not get a "comfort" golden and do not recommend them to anyone. ?? The best Christmas present turned into the worst with crying children.GoldenQuest LLC Response

Matthew, I just want to start out by saying that I am disappointed in how this has played out. Our goal was to give your family a once in a lifetime dog that would love you and your family and be loved in return. My staff personally delivered the puppy. On the initial drop off my staff member stayed at your house around 2 hours to answer questions and get your new puppy settled in. The next day we were told that your wife had concerns about some of the behaviors the puppy was exhibiting. The puppy was in a new home environment with new surroundings and had never exhibited the behaviors you were claiming were occurring. I suspected you had so overloaded the puppy that it was trying to communicate it needed some time alone in the only way it could communicate. I offered to either have our trainer reach out or find a local trainer to work with explore your concerns. We fully understand that getting a puppy is a huge responsibility. Properly training a puppy is hard and takes a lot of work. It should always be a rewarding and fulfilling process for the family. You stated that you and your kids were attached to and loved that puppy. You said you weren't concerned with the puppy's behaviors and wanted to keeping it. You stated that this puppy was putting a strain on your marriage because you and your children wanted to keep it and your wife didn’t. Since your wife had such reservations about your puppy, we also offered to switch him out for another. I stated your marriage was more important than the puppy and offered a full refund on the puppy if you returned him. I hated the thought of the pain you and your children would have with the return of your new puppy, especially a Christmas puppy. You were given the options to make all the decisions. You had mentioned to us that you had just lost your other dog recently, so I suggested to your wife that maybe you weren’t entirely ready for a new puppy and needed more time to grieve. You decided to return your puppy for a full refund. You wanted the puppy to be picked up immediately. My staff dropped everything to personally drive up to pick up the puppy. When we began to go over finances everything went sour. Although you agreed to pay for the delivery of the puppy and the service had been rendered you wanted a full refund. Although I had it in writing you would pay for the puppy’s return and this service had been rendered, you refused to pay for this too. I offered a compromise to pay partially for the delivery and in full for the return. You became hostile and said you wanted a full refund of every bit, including all travel immediately. You said if I didn’t do everything your way you would do a social media smear and destroy my business. I offered multiple suggestions but you weren’t open to any of them. We do a two week quarantine with any puppy that gets returned keep all of our dogs healthy. You were aware you would get your puppy refund after the puppy passed this health assessment. You called my local police department two days before the quarantine was up. You falsely stated that I was refusing to return your money. I actually refunded the full price of the puppy even before the quarantine was fully over. In the end you paid nothing for the 30 hours of delivery and pick up of this pup and were refunded in full for the puppy. You posted multiple bad reviews and had friends and family post multiple bad reviews. We never saw any bad behaviors before placing and after rescuing the puppy. When we rehomed the puppy the new owners never had any behavioral issues. I personally think it is strange that could never replicate any problem behaviors with the puppy. The puppy is now thriving in its new home. We wish you, your children and your wife the best.
