My wife and I lost our first ***** at ******'s on February 9, 2023. She was born and was delivered to me, where I held her until she passed away 3 hours later. Our little girl was then taken to the Morgue where she was transported the our funeral home. My wife and I paid off the medical bill she received for treatment over the last year. Now, however, we are told that we owe Oschner another bill of nearly $3000.00. We have been sent to collections. When we asked what that second bill was for, we were told it was for our daughters stay in the *** and the N***, a stay that never happened. Oschner has admitted that she never went to the *** and N***, but that we still owe them the money. We have filed a grievance with the hospital, but they refuse to budge. They say we have no choice and have to pay them for services that were never received by our daughter. If we had received the *** and N*** stay we wouldn't complain, but they are trying to force us to pay a bill for something that never happened. This is tantamount to fraud, and they have sent us to collections to collect money we neither knew they wanted, and had no reason to expect they would ever demand. It was the doctors who refused life saving measures, who refused to try and take her to the ***. Yet they demand we pay them for a possibility they never offered, a possibility we were refused outright. They have only added to our loss with their cruelty and demands. If they had offered some salvation for my daughter I would not refuse to pay, but my daughter was abandoned by *******. They chose to refuse her any treatment. She was born, she died in my arms, and then she went to the morgue. But they have the audacity to tell us we still have to pay them. While i refuse to pay them, this is not a matter of money. This is a matter of what is right and wrong. Can the BBB help us have this bill removed? Thank you.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Oschner continues to claim I need to pay for services that were never rendered. Oschner refused to provide life saving ICU/NICU measures. They require me to pay for these services to my daughter, despite not providing them.

      Regards,

******* has charged me for an injection shot 4 times last year that my insurance covers. They billed my shot as an unclassified drug through my insurance but wrote on my bill that it was a medical service. This was deceiving and I didn't realize they were charging me for my injection. I have told them twice that my insurance covers the injections and that they need to recode it so that my insurance will cover it. They refuse to do so and are asking me to pay for my injection. I am asking ******* to recode this and reimburse me for the 3 injections I have already paid for and to bill my insurance for all 4 injections as this is covered by my insurance. I am very upset that ******* not care about taking money from their patients that isn't necessary.
