I was admitted to Oceans Behavioral Hospital at end of January 2024 into early February 2024. The business office there told my son that I would owe $2070.00 and ******** would pay for the rest of my stay. We received a bill for $1610.00 more. Contacted them on 4/11/2024 and told the people there what the billing people in ********* stated in February that we would $0 per ******** paying 100%.Business response

The patient was admitted on 2/3/2024 with ****** ******** Advantage insurance. On 2/5/2024 we called the patients son to confirm demographic information and advised of the estimated ****** ******** Advantage deductible/co-pay.
The patient was discharged on 2/12/2024. On 2/15/24 the son paid the estimated deductible/co-pay in the amount of $2070. ****** ******** Advantage denied the last 2 days of the patients stay.
Oceans filed the claim to ****** ******** Advantage. ****** paid the claim on 2/29/2024 showing a $1610 out of pocket liability. The two days NOT covered or paid by ****** equaled to $1520 ($760 per day). That resulted in a total amount due by the patient/family of $3,130 after ****** paid their portion. That left a balance of $1060 after the son's payment of $2070.
Oceans reviewed the account notes, transactions, payments, and talked with relevant hospital staff. After that review, we determined there was a lack of proper communication that ****** had denied two days of the patients stay which occurred on a weekend. We reached out to the son to explain what occurred, offered our apology for any miscommunication or confusion with respect to the billing and advised we would adjust the remaining balance of $1060 to zero.
It is our understanding this was an acceptable resolution to the reported complaint.
