Tuesday February 22nd, blade services llc came to drop off two loads of fill dirt to my residence as ordered. I showed him where the septic tank and lines were and asked that he dump the dirt as far back in the yard as possible considering the plumbing. He dumped the first load of fill dirt in the back corner of the home and proceeded to come back around the yard to leave. He stopped at the front corner of the home and got out of his truck to check the ground because he felt that he may have busted a pipe or something. Then he got back in the truck and went to pick up the second load of fill dirt. He came back the same day and dumped the second load of fill dirt in the same area that he thought he had broken the pipe in. (Crossing over the broken line again and sort of covering it up with a huge mound of fill dirt). The next day, it became obvious to myself that there were two leaks on the property. One immediately next to the driveway which was a water line going towards the house and the second one on the far front corner of the house of sewage pipe going away from the house. I was able to get a plumber out to fix the freshwater line for a fair price, but the sewage line is a costly fix. A licensed plumber suggests bypassing the collapsed filter bed segment rather than replacing it for a cheaper solution, but the man from blade services suggests rigging the septic pipe somehow to make it funcional again rather than paying a licensed professional to fix the problem that he caused. The man from blade services accepts no fault in the matter and refuses to pay any of the costs of return any money because he says that i told him where to dump the fill dirt. In my opinion, he is responsible because I specifically showed him where the septic system was at and asked for his professional opinion about a place to dump the fill dirt. I also specified that if it could not be placed where i preferred, then he could dump the fill dirt elsewhere.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/03/21) */ On February 22, the owner requested the dirt be dumped in the back yard. She showed me where the septic tank was located so I stayed away from it. I had no way of knowing there was a filter bed in the area and no way of knowing how deep the tail pipe was or what material it was. This is information the owner could have verified. The water meter was totally covered and she did not know where it was. Typically, the water line is located on the right or left side of the property. It is the owners' responsibility to contact LA ONE CALL to determine if there are any utility lines. I had no way of knowing the location. I also have no control over the equipment used to spread the dirt? I dumped the load as requested. I only crossed 8' of the line. The tires only crossed one time in & out. When I came back to dump the second load I did not back over the line. I backed up as close as possible and dumped the dirt in the same place. I didn't want to take a chance dumping it anywhere else. When I was made aware of the problem, I offered to show them how to repair the line if her husband would dig up the line. I spoke with a master plumber about the situation and he said that it could have been repaired as I had suggested. It did not require a licensed plumber to make this repair. He said that filter beds are obsolete now in Ascension Parish because there are so many problems with filter beds. They are only used in special circumstances. I had no way of knowing there was a filter bed. The plumber they hired probably did not want to fool with the filter bed because they are so problematic. For a week she continued to order more dirt. I delivered 3 more loads which were dumped in the front yard. She paid for these as well. After that she texted and asked me to for a refund of the dirt. I have delivered many loads of dirt through the years and have never had anyone request me to repair a line. It is the owners' responsibility. If she was concerned she should not have requested it be dumped in the back yard.
