I have been contact by the *** for wages that were not reported. I have been trying to contact mcmullen tax masters to look into this matter as I did give them documents, they are not returning my calls or emails. Please help.Best Regards,*********************************Initial Complaint

My husband and I dropped off our tax documents in late March in a single manilla envelope and were waiting for them to call for verbal confirmation as this is how they now operate. I never received verbal phonecall per their policy and my taxes were filed while my husband's weren't. I only found out when I got my paperwork back in the mail. I called then and explained we were supposed to file jointly and I never consented to having mine filed without verbal approval. I was asked by the owner why I hadn't changed my last name which made it confusing for him but I was offended and thought that was an inappropriate question to ask especially when we submitted our paperwork together in the same envelope that they actually took our paperwork and separated it on 2 different desks. He said he would file for a redaction and refile jointly and would go find my husband's paperwork. We get a call 2 weeks later in mid to late April from another employee asking my husband the standard file questions and we had to inform her of the error and that the owner *** said he was taking care of it 2 weeks prior to this call. Since then, it has be us just calling them at least weekly to several times a week asking for an update and what to do with the money from my tax return as I do not know if I need to return it or if the *** will just pay the difference. We haven't received any update since June, none of our calls have been returned and one of their locations in stoughton is gone so we have no way of contacting them and his taxes are still not completed. You call the main number and it goes straight to voice-mail which is now always full and *** has not responded to any of our emails at all. We are at a loss at this point and don't want to face an audit from the *** due to professional negligence. Any help or advice in this situation would be appreciated.Customer response

I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint. We are currently working with another accountant to help us with our tax issue and are discussing taking *************************** to and small claims court or potentially filing a lawsuit but we are still seeking advice from lawyers at this time. I brought my 2020 and 2021 taxes to be completed. On April first I left them at a drop box where the son of the owner was collecting the items. On April 2 I received a call that I was missing items for my husbands business and that the taxes owed seemed high. I gathered more information and sent the documents to them. After a week I called back to ensure they were received. I spoke with the owner who said he would look for them. A few more days went by and I did not receive any communication about next steps. I left call back messages and asked what it was that I needed to do to move forward. I have not received a **** or invoice nor have they returned my call. They returned 2 pieces of paper that had the additional business items on it without the taxes. I sticky note stated " what do you want me to do with these?" I called and left message that I thought they were the information he needed to complete the taxes. They had tool purchases, gas milage and other items for my husbands business on them. I have called numerous times asking for a **** or what the next step is without avail. I simply want our tax documents returned so we can have them completed by another provider.
