We had Sturdy roof my commercial building. The seams were not done properly. They never even changed out the roof drain, they just cut around it. Sloppy work. They started and it rained. The rain came in through the unfinished ceiling. They should have checked the weather before starting this job. I've tried calling them multiple times over the six months. No call back, no live person answers.

The West Granville Congregational Church contracted with Sturdy Home Improvement to peform a Siding Project for the Church on August 20, 2020. A down payment of $8,000.00 was issued. On August 31 we were advised that the materials would need to be paid as the Hardy Board Product was required in full ahead of any work being performed. A check for $32,000.00 was issued. The first delay of the project was due to weather conditions. The next delay and subsequent delays were prodiuct availability, COVID, Hardy Board installers not trained and now 2022 no response on our inquiry. At this point we require the return of our downpayment and materials paid for a total of $40,000.00 Communication has been poor and their lack of concern for this has been the cause of much worry and resulted in the Church Building deteriorating in its condition.

Contract was signed 8.11.21 for a deck. Deck contract date is 10.29.21. Work started in November of 2021 completed late April of 2022. I told **** the foreman immediately upon completion about the board not being flush. Several months ago I told Sturdy and **** about the railing top not being flush like the rest of the railing top. I told Sturdy today about the molding missing from one sleeve, as I had forgotten to mention that on other communications, due to another more pressing issues going on about this entire project regarding a lien placed on my home from the sub contractor Sturdy hired yet did not pay, when they were paid in full. I am obtaining an attorney for the lien to go after Sturdy after the repairs are done on my deck. I am looking for the Better Business Bureau to assist in having Sturdy fix their mistakes. The project cost 29,000 Sturdy has been paid in full and contacted several times on their mistakes, they keep saying they will honor the warranty however never commit to a date to come to fix their errors. This has been since April for the board and a couple of months ago for the railing top, and today 9.26 I notified on the missing molding . I do not see any action of resolution by this company that should not be in business for what they do to their customers. I am setting up a complaint as I can say I have had zero success in having their errors fixed on my own requiring intervention.

They scammed me and ripped me off. I put down a deposit of 3k, and they proceeded to never show up for work that they said they would start in November (it is now March) and never called me back. When I called them they would say that they would call me later cause there was a 'problem with the architect'. They never called me, no matter how many times I called them, so I called the architect and SURPRISE, they didn't pay the architect and the architect told me this wasn't the first time they refused to pay him for work he had done for them. . This company stole 3k from me.

On 6/1/21 I paid Sturdy Home Improvement $36,000 which was in addition to the $2,500 I paid in April. Thee addition was to be started in July and finished by November. They've repeatedly ignored messages and correspondence and never began the job. It's March 2022. They stole $38,500 from me. I have a contact with them proving it and no addition on my house. No siding, none of all of the items listed on my contract, which they've breached. I filed with the State of Mass as well. Please help me get my money back. I'm a senior citizen and feel like I've been scammed.

      Business response

      04/28/2022

Business Response /* (4000, 19, 2022/04/28) */ She requested canceling the project . Materials were ordered and a tremendous amount of planning and administrative work was put into this project , site visits etc . This is a breach of contract. Deciding to hire another contractor warning and expecting a full refund is not fair . Additionally the original amount of the deposit we requested was much smaller . Karen insisted on a larger deposit and didn't want as many payments as we had set up on our original contract. We are willing to compromise in some way but a full refund will not address the lost business and expenses incurred . We hope to come to a fair resolution

We had someone out on May 25th 2021 to give us a quote on a new sliding door. On June 7th I signed the contract and paid the $500 deposit. I was told via email that it would take 8-12 weeks. After 12 weeks I called again and was told it would take another "couple weeks" due to COVID delays. That's fine, I understand. I called back after 20+ weeks and was told they should have the door in in "two weeks". I asked if I should call back to confirm and he said "No, we'll reach out as soon as we have the door." It is now January 27th, over 33 weeks since I paid the deposit on the door. I emailed and called Sturdy Home last Friday (the 21st) asking for a firm install date or a refund. Now I would just like the refund to end this insanity. As a side note, I needed 5 windows replaced but went with someone else. I set up an appointment to have them looked at on 9/14/2021 and the windows were installed on 12/6/2021. Just at 12 weeks, so I really don't understand the excuses.

The date of Transaction was MARCH 9, 2021. The job involved SUPPLY and INSTALLATION of a twin casement, basement WINDOW,(Oknee 700 Series, Delux Package, insulated sash + frame U value 24, brown exterior, white interior with BROWN interior handles ). The price of $ 1700 agreed included materials, labor and taxes. A deposit of $ 500 was paid by cheque # **** on 3/9/2021, the balance of $ 1200 to be paid upon completion of the job. There are TWO problems that prompted this complaint: First, after almost A YEAR from signing the contract, the job is NOT DONE !! There has been NO ATTEMPT by seller to return my deposit of $ 500! This leads to the SECOND problem which involves NO PROFESSIONAL RESPONSE by seller in spite of MANY calls by myself, ( at least EIGHT calls, all documented by me ), asking for information and/action on the agreed job! Only on a couple of occasions, months ago, I was told their supplier was behind on deliveries and would let me know when the window would be in. I did not hear from them, again in spite of many followup calls by me! I find this unprofessional! All I am asking is, either the job be completed within FOUR WEEKS from NOW,( 1/27th) or return my deposit of $500 by cheque so I can get another company to install the window. Either way I would appreciate the courtesy of a phone call by the company to *********** , ( leave a message if no answer ),regarding their response and from BBB with your input, by call or email. I do appreciate your help in this frustrating experience, and thank you in advance, sincerely, ***********

Business Response /* (1000, 9, 2022/02/11) */ ********** was informed last week that the window was finally delivered from the manufacturer. We are actually out at his home today doing the install . Window manufacturers have been a mess this year with lead times and constant delays . We are very sorry the effect this had on ********** and many of our other clients.
