I hired Michaels Home Improvement. His name is ************************* to remodel a fire bedroom. He did not finish the work. He overcharged me Gutters in all wrong. I had to fix the ceiling with another contractor, walls and trim. I had to fix that, and he did not additively insulate the attic, he did not put the windows incorrectly. He did so much damage that I have to hire other people I want to refund.Business response

Good morning,
I received a notice of a complaint. In September 2023, the customer and I entered into a contract with my company, *******'s Home Improvement, to repair damage to her home as a result of a fire. The contract included damage to the inside as well as repairs to the outside of her home. When work began, The customer decided to exclude some of the repairs and include additional work, which she was requesting to have me write up as additions and some as part of the insurance claim. There were additional doors and windows to be installed as part of the original contract as well as exterior work to her home. On three occasions, my team and I attempted to install windows and an interior door to her son's room. On all three occasions we were refused entry to his room which resulted with him acting out in an aggressive manner. In many instances it became apparent that the customer had no intent to pay the final payment due on the contract, which is over $6,400.00. There were many communications where I tried to resolve the issues she mentioned.
I have been in business over 35 years and have never received a complaint or dealt with a more difficult customer.
I have attempted to adjust the balance due on the contract based on her complaints. The building permit was signed off as everything passed per code, (electrical and building) This is truly a case of the contractor being a victim and I am still undecided if I will be pursuing the balance owed to me under contract as this customer is extremely difficult in a harassing manner.
