My son was recently enrolled in A-Z Driving School and he completed the virtual classroom portion of the class. When it came time for scheduling his driving lessons with the instructor we encountered a number of issues including poor communication, lack or organization with the entire program, difficult scheduling due to very limited availability, unprofessionalism over the phone. As a result we made a decision to transfer my son to another school to complete the driving portion of his training with no problems. Bundled program cost was 599.00 which included 30 hours of a group classroom training, 12 hours of 1:1 drive time, 6 hours of Observation Time and 2 hour parent class. A to Z did not provide a detailed price breakdown on their website or booklet. The owner decided to create her own rate breakdown and send us an invoice over email and by mail, which we were not aligned with, but agreed to pay the $320.00 for the virtual portion of the class and sent a check on January 4th. In addition we are being charged a $30.00 Driver's Education Classroom Certificate, which is not valid for the classroom portion of the instruction. I have confirmation from the driving school we transferred to and written confirmation from the RMV that the certificate fee is paid to the school completing the driving course and they will issue the Driver's Education Certificate in conjunction with the RMV at the end of the program. See attached response from the RMV. We are also being charged a $25.00 late cancellation fee. My son had a driving lesson scheduled for December 13th 4-5pm, which he had to cancel due to illness. A-Z has a 24 hour cancellation policy, no method of communication is specified in their policy. I have an email from my son to the driving school on December 12th at 3:19pm notifying them of his illness and need to cancel. He also followed with a phone call at 7:18pm that day. Please see the attached email, we were within the cancellation policy.
