The price gauging at this store is absurd. A small candy bar is $3. A bag of nerds gummy clusters normally sold at $2-$4 at other stores is sold for $8.50 at this location. They take advantage of the nearby high school - they are highly aware that there are hungry kids. It’s highly unethical and the employees are often rude as well.Review from Antonia L.

I tried to pump gas at one of their pumps using my debit card, entering my pin, and it was declined multiple times. I then used a credit card was INSTANTLY charged $100.00 BEFORE removing the gas pump.I only spent $45.00 in gas.I called the company and they said it is the banks fault - but why did my personal bank not allow me to use the pump then? Something very fishy is going on here.I asked the store clerk and they blamed the bank.I called the manager and they blamed the bank.NEVER has this happened to me before at ANY gas station or ANY store for that matter, just by swiping a card and getting charged for something I haven't even purchased yet.I believe this to be fraudulent and I would like to be refunded the $55.00 that I did not receive in gas please.BE VERY CAREFUL USING THIS CUMBERLAND FARMS ON SAMOSET ST IN ********Review from Colleen S

I am an European living in America. After a year and a bit of living a smoker life in here, I met **** at a location in *****. He refused to sell me cigarettes because my ID showed that I was a 32 year old woman from a different country. I contacted the company through an email, just to let them know that they have an employee that would build the wall by himself if he wouldve been capable or had any real power. I let them know that he was acting as the supervisor for the store when he refused my ask for a manager. The companys response: we sell only to those with an American or ******** ID.Review from DAVID F

Many Cumberland Farms locations require people to ask permission to use the restrooms now. One place even dared to ask me if I needed to go #1 or #2; this is a massive invasion of privacy, I have done a lot of business with Cumberland Farms, and I don't appreciate being treated in this manner. Adults should not have to ask permission to use the restroom; if they do, they certainly should not be asked which bodily function they need to do. I travel all over ***** for business; I frequent Cumberland Farms all over ***** for gas, coffee, lunch, etc... I spend hundreds a week just in gas at Cumberland Farms. I will not be patronizing them any further. Companies that lose touch with their customers do not deserve our business. Bud-Light comes to mind; look how well that worked out for **************!I've contacted customer service and keep getting blown off like this is no big deal, or they are comfortable with it. They are so big that they apparently don't need my business or yours. I doubt they even read most of my emails to them; they probably just copied and pasted a canned response and buried their heads back in the sand, hoping it would go away. They did accomplish one thing; I am going away, far away from their businesses.Save the "apologies"; you either do the right thing or you don't; it's that simple. Apologizing for an offensive act and then continuing to do the offensive act solves nothing. It also shows your complete detachment from your customers and an unwillingness to listen to your clientele and highlights your inability to hear them.Review from William P

Their carwash damaged my truck and back in March of this year ( ***********, ** location)I have a claim with their insurance company for the damage that they refuse to pay off on.The carwash overhead door came down on top of my truck! causing expensive repairs. It was a system error at the carwash ( sensors not working).I would tell everyone to avoid this location they don't care about their customers and if anything happens you your vehicle at Cumberland you are on your own!!!!Review from Nathaniel H

I use SmartPay gas rewards (subsidiary of Cumberland Farms), which requires a bank account to be linked. When I changed banks, I forgot to switch this account. When a gas charge was not able to go through, rather than simply informing me I need to update my payment information (like any other company I've ever done business with!), the payment was referred to the debt collector CheckRedi who immediately charged a $35 fee. When I called they staunchly refused to waive the fee stating it was in the terms of service. SmartPay also passed the buck to CheckRedi and said nothing can be done. Given I just got married and changed a variety of accounts and credit cards, I inevitably forgot a few accounts and didn't have updated payment information on file for a few recurring charges. In every other instance, as you would expect, I was informed by the business that I needed to update my payment information which I promptly did. Charging a $35 fee for this and pointing to fine print in terms of service for gas rewards that no one would ever read is so absurd it's hard to put in words. This is an exorbitant and exploitative business practice that should be immediately stopped. I would be filing complaints with the MA Attorney General and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau as well.Review from Christine S

I was just in the **********, ******** ***** store and was never so insulted in my life. I went to gas up, get lottery tickets and to pick up a bottle of wine for a dinner party tonight. I have been in this store thousands of times, have spent thousands of dollars there over the past 10 years as I live right around the corner. When the wine rang up it was more than the shelf price, so I asked him about it. He got angry and said "I've had people like you in here before." "Like who?" I replied, "A customer who wants feels the shelf price should be honored?' He smiled smugly at me and said "No, just people like you." "Like me? Do you think I'm some homeless person, or someone you think you can just insult with derogatory comments?" "I can't change the price." "Thats fine, I can deal with that, What I won't deal with is someone so insultive and condescending." Then the little fu***r looked at me and laughed.I have never been so ****** in my life at a young punk who thinks he can insult someone he has never seen before and who he has no idea about. I will work tirelessly to get this store shut down...
