This summer (2024) we entered into a contract with The Knot/Wedding Wire. We are a medical practice offering weight loss/self care/IV therapy services and the only way they could categorize us was under "makeup/beauty," but I was assured this would still result in significant leads. I keep track of our response time, which is within the recommended window, and 100% of our leads have resulted in no business. I have contacted The Knot, have had ONE complementary meeting for improving our "storefront" and now the closest point to a lead was a scammer who tried to book his "four daughters" for IV therapy, but was ultimately trying to commit fraud. When we were originally sold on their marketing services, we were promised at least a 6-10% turnover rate. I have spent time and money tracking and responding to these leads, that have resulted in absolutely nothing. Signing up with the Knot was ultimately agreeing to set $250 on fire every month. Worst marketing decision our business has experienced so far.Review from Adam D

We are one of the premiere wedding bands in our area, and we decided to sign up for wedding wire. Its been about 7 months, and about 95% of all leads we have received through WW are a scam or spam. We receive leads that reach out with canned messaging asking if were available on x date, then theyll reach out again with the same messaging asking if were available on a different date. We recently received a lead that asked if we can play for their wedding, then asked for our phone number. I called them, and the person had a thick accent with a California area code. Were based in **, but my cell # area code is VA. The person then said he needs us to play for his 5th wedding anniversary, and his wife is in the hospital. I went along with it, and asked where the venue is located. He texted me a VA residential address while I was on the phone, and I told him we are based in **. He apologized and said he sent the wrong address by mistake. I stopped him and said I know this is a scam and he abruptly hung up. I have the convo recorded. This is just a sample of our experience with WW. We book about 15 weddings a year, and that trend has continued, though all of our biz still comes through our other channels. It would be better if we received no leads instead of almost all scam/spam leads. Its a waste of our time, and costs about $350/month. They will not let us out of our contract, and we are looking into legal action. They have an F rating on BBB, and I totally understand why. I believe this is consumer fraud, and they are scamming small businesses out of their hard earned money.Review from Lexi J

I got legitimate leads from wedding pro. It helped me start my business. That being said, I would not recommend this to prospective wedding photographers, and here is why: the interface is nearly impossible to use and the app never works. There are CONSTANT technical difficulties. You cannot get ahold of the so called "help" team. I have sent emails that have gone unanswered. I wanted to change my business name, and I never received a response, so I emailed again. Two weeks later I was told I have to submit a request with a website and email address bearing the name change. They are VERY predatory; there is no trial period. If you join and you are unhappy with the service, you are locked in to the price you agreed upon for full year. Even considering the app doesn't work and the website has a lot of issues. I wrote and told them I had unexpected medical costs come up and it was no longer in my budget to keep my account, and they still would not budge on the monthly price, or help me out in any way. At the end of the year which you are locked into, it auto renews with a new contract, and a new price without warning or **************** NOT ADVERTISE ON WEDDINGWIRE-KNOT. You are better off creating a website and paying for search optimization on ******.Review from Skyler S

Biggest scam I've seen in the wedding industry. There's no value for an entertainment business with fake leads and promises.Review from LA P

This was the WORST business mistake I made. I signed up for the Knot thinking it would generate leads and business for my event planning business. Instead, they drove my business into the ground with their high monthly charges and terrible customer service. I spoke to (2) two different customer service **** and was ASSURED that I could cancel my contract at ANY TIME. I tried to cancel my contract after paying for two months - two months with (0) ZERO credible leads (any "lead" turned out to spam or bots). I sent several emails, called and spoke with different ****, and spoke with my account manager - all to be told that I signed a contract that would last for (12) months and there was "nothing we can do about it". I asked to speak to supervisors and was told that wasn't an option. I was told that "our representatives are trained and they do not lie" and "our representatives would never say that you can cancel at any time". I would not recommend their service to anyone and can't believe they operate this way. Their sales **** and account managers blatantly lie and do not care that they are charging you when you can no longer afford it.Review from Tirzah C

We spent exorbitant amounts of money marketing with The Knot for over 20 years. In 2018/19, we saw a HUGE change in our experience with them. The "leads" were non-responsive, the staff at TK became rude and pushy. When I inquired about my fear of fake leads, they were defensive and then threw data at me that was totally fake. When I questioned it, they refused to tell me where it came from...which led me to further believe it was fabricated. They allow venues to negotiate pricing which is totally unfair to others and you can pay high ticket prices for their ads only to be lumped in with your competitors. This company has gone downhill and I would recommend other venues to stay away from wasting your money here.Review from ZACHARY L

I paid for an annual profile on The Bash. After ~10months, I realized I wasnt using it to I went to cancel it so I wouldnt be charged for another whole year. 1) There is no place on the website where I can cancel my own account 2) Ive gone back and forth now 4x with a customer service *** who continues to try to get me to keep my profile up rather than honoring my request to cancel my account. Making it this hard to cancel a subscription should be illegal. I would t recommend this site to anyone.Review from Mary S

I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the predatory business practices of your company, which I find to be both unethical and potentially bordering on illegal.Firstly, there is no notification provided to customers with the exact date as to when their contracts are due for renewal. This places the entire burden on the customer to remember the exact renewal date. What is most troubling, however, is the absence of a straightforward method to cancel the contract through your website. Instead, customers are required to send an email to your support team to initiate cancellation. In my case, it took three emails and five days before I received a response. When support finally did respond, I was informed that a five-business-day notice is required to cancel the contract. I find this practice to be highly unethical, especially when compared to the ease of canceling services such as cable, phone, and other similar contracts, which can typically be done within minutes online or via a representative. After numerous exchanges with a representative named *************************, I have yet to receive written confirmation that my contract has been terminated. While there is significant pressure during the contract signing process, it seems that support becomes unresponsive when a customer wishes to cancel, and my representative appears to have disappeared.Furthermore, I strongly believe that the return on investment is far below what was promised by your sales team. I have read numerous reports of false leads and of people filing formal complaints with the ************************* This discrepancy, combined with the aforementioned issues, leads me to conclude that your business practices are, at best, shady and, at worst, unethical.I urge you and ************************* to immediately address these concerns promptly and provide a written confirmation of my contract's termination.Thank you.Review from Joseph B

This company will drive newer business to the ground. Cant wait for a class-action. I secretly had somebody do another on board call from a different area. They Skewed the numbers to make it seem as if youre In high demand. When the select five that are at the very top are the only ones taking all the business. The truth of the matter is They Skew numbers To fit their agenda. I realize days after and requested to not be a part of this company. They then Told me theyll still charge me. I change my banking information, my account information and somehow I got charged today. Months after thinking, ** finally done with them. How in the world did they get my banking information? They should be ashamed of themselves. I just wish that I Went on BBB before contacting them.
