I was supposed tp have my wedding at the gathering place July 16 th. I signed the contract with her and received little information about the rules and regulations of the venue. the manager did not put it on the contract and neither she put that she will charge 1800 for just her presence since I did go with her inside catering .On the catering responsibilities , it clearly stated that the caterer should have met the requirements before I signed the contract . So the manager made me sign a document without fully informed of the venue restrictions which were not on the contract. Now I tried to work out with her but no caterer service are willing to work with the Gathering place and how can we have a wedding venue without food . She said the deposit is non-refundable however she made me signed a document without fully informed and I thought I was renting the room .

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/07/05) */ Wanda ****** via netorgftXXXXXXX.onmicrosoft.com Attachments Mon, Jul 4, 10:23 PM (10 hours ago) to me Dear Ms. ****, A Rental Agreement was prepared on 8/24/2021 and emailed to ******** ******* and ******* ******* for signature and deposit to reserve the date of Saturday, July 16, 2022 for a Traditional Wedding. At time of signing the Rental Agreement, the *******'s selected to contract with our in In-House Caterer, Putting on the Ritz, with Ethnic Food Accommodation. Then in May of 2022, two months before their event, Ms. ******* requested changing the Rental Agreement to the Outside Full-Service Caterer option. I explained the requirements of the Outside Full-Service Caterer Option and that I would have to check if I could still offer that option as The Gathering Place must have an Event Captain available to open the venue and oversee the building during the entire event including setup and cleanup time. Because Ms. ******* had originally agreed to contract with our In-House Caterer, I was scheduled to be on vacation 7/16/2022. I cancelled my vacation to accommodate her request. The Revised Rental Agreement was prepared on 5/17/2022 changing the In-House Caterer to the Outside Full Service Caterer which was listed at TBD (To Be Determined) as Ms. ******* had not provided me with the name of the Ethnic Caterer. The Revised Rental Agreement was signed on 5/25/2022. The Caterers Responsibilities was signed by the Ethnic Caterer, 5 Sisters, dated 6/13/2022 and the required documentation was received. The client then requested using a different Ethnic Caterer as they were trying to reduce the caterer cost which I provided an additional week for the new caterer paperwork to be completed by the new Ethnic Caterer. Three weeks before their event I received their request to cancel the event and they immediately demanded a refund. I explained to them the cancellation policy which is in the Rental Agreement. If Lessee cancels booking after the deposit is made, the deposit is forfeit unless the room is rented by another tenant for the same date and time at an equal or greater price in which case a $300 processing fee will be retained by RICI and the remainder of the deposit will be refunded within two weeks after event date. I furthered offered as an alternative to possibly losing their non-refundable deposit if we are unable to rebook the date, that they could go back to the original Rental Agreement and contract with our In-House Caterer with Ethnic Food Accommodation. A couple days later I received the email from you with a complaint. I look forward to speaking with you via a telephone call with further details. Kind regards, Wanda ******
