I have been getting a lot of phone calls that I didn't even sign up for. I have never heard of the company in my entire life. They have been calling me non-stop since Tuesday, October 29, 2024. They called me at these times on Tuesday: 8:57 am (twice), 8:59 am, 9:00 am, 9:08 am, 9:27 am, 9:58 am, 11:01 am, 11:41 am, 12:17 pm, 2:15 pm, 2:17 pm, 3:36 pm, 3:40 pm, 4:17 pm, and 6:41 pm. Again, I got the call from the same company yesterday, October 30, 2024, at 9:02 am, 12:30 pm, 3:56 pm, and 6:55 pm (twice). Also, I got a text from them at 6:59 pm. I called the number 3 times requesting my information to be removed from the list, but they didn't do what I requested. ******* D******* from Huntingtown, MD, has been doing this with the spoof number. I submitted a request on the website to have my information removed, but I haven't heard from them. He left a contact number: (301)********. I have been trying to remove my information from the internet for years, and they are violating my privacy and have been harassing me through phone calls.Business response

I spoke with an employee who had called me about my request to recieve a quote to get a new roof. I told him I did not wish to have a guy come out to my home but to just have a google earth roof check done and to send me an estimate via email. He said he would send the quote immediately. I received a job work order and it stated I had signed and accepted the quote of over 19,000 dollars. I did not sign anything and did not accept the ridiculous quote of 19,949. Obviously this is a big scam. I looked at the emailed work order they sent and they had my name on the area of customer signiture.....unknown as to how they did that but that is not my signature nor my acceptance,Business response

*******,
As we discussed on the phone, you are NOT contracted with us to do a roofing project. We sent you the proposal per your request. You did NOT sign anything. We are happy to assist you if you ever do decide to move forward with us but this was merely the proposal but you did not sign it. We apologize for any confusion.
Thanks,

During the first week of June 2024, oneday roofing started to install an new roof on my property, during installation they added an extra $12,000 to the cost of the roof for more material that was needed. they removed all of the antique crown molding from my home and replaced it with some cheap unpainted wood, leaving large gaps in the home edges. birds and bees have made homes and is destroying the house. there is a hole in the roof where they missed a spot and i can see outside. water has gotten in and caused problems. i warded they that they might have to remove a extra layer of wood . they said no, but they did and caused a major clean up in the attic. the home will need major repair all around. i have sent pictures and have gotten no respones.Business response

During the installation, One Day Roofing added $5,260 to the project cost, rather than $12,000. This adjustment was necessary due to the need to replace the entire roof's plywood and fascia. The original wood decking was not up to code, featuring approximately 3-inch gaps between each of the 1x6s that were previously installed. Additionally, the roof had three layers of asphalt shingles and one layer of cedar wooden shingles, which exceeds the building code limit for the number of layers.
According to the contract pricing, the additional wood and labor for removing the excess layers would have cost well over $12,000. However, One Day Roofing provided a discount to help the homeowner as much as possible. Due to the gaps in the wood planking and the presence of 100-year-old cedar shingles, some debris did fall into the attic. This issue was discussed on the day of the project, and the customer emphasized that he simply wanted the job done correctly and he understood the debris in the attic was due to the code issues with his roof.Initial Complaint

My roof was installed in February of 2024. Approx. 3 days after this was done, I noticed the shingles on the back of the house looked like they were lifting. I called Frank (Sales) and he asked for a photo. I sent it and he agreed it was unacceptable. He said he would get in touch with Eric who would address this. I have called Frank multiple times and still nothing. Eric has never called. I have called the main office. Frank finally gave me Eric’s number. He doesn’t answer or return calls. I am extremely frustrated that I can’t get this resolved after spending $19,000 on a roof.Business response

Dear *****,
We sincerely regret the inconvenience you've experienced in reaching out to us. Our warranty/service department was not previously informed of any concerns regarding your roof. It's important to note that asphalt shingles undergo a settling process after installation, which may take some time for complete flattening.
We have attempted to reach you this morning and left a message to initiate a conversation. Our aim is to collaboratively devise a plan of action to swiftly address and resolve this matter. Please feel free to return our call at your earliest convenience.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Warm regards,

One Day Roofing started the installation of my Roof on December 2, 2023 and completed it December 3. I actually located them on ********* under the title "**** *** *****" no cost to you. Of course I know that nothing is free but in this day and age that tons of Home improvement grants abound, I wouldn't have been surprised to find that all or most of my Roof installation could be covered by a grant. But that was the EXACT advertisement I responded to, but of course that is not the contract I was signed into. I feel completely coerced in this very hefty home improvement. I got cold feet 2 days after I signed the contract and told them that I wanted to cancel the install. Griff made me feel at ease as if there would be some payment flexibility even though I was not approved for any financing credit wise. So I did not stand staunch against cancelling the install. I was currently waiting for Home improvement grant from my city at the time of our interaction, and really should've just kept waiting, but my roof was in really bad shape. To make a long story short not only do I feel robbed and betrayed for the false advertisement, I have now been threatened to have a lien on my house and my house foreclosed on for the cost of the roof. I never received a statement of completion for the job, meaning no aerial photos to show the job was done, etc. They just started on Saturday out the blue and came back that Sunday for several more hours. Only after a few hours did I receive a text confirming I was okay for work to begin that day, after being pushed back several days due to rainy conditions. I know I owe for the roof and I have every intention of paying it. Like I told Griff I am not comfortable in relinquishing that kind of money at one time, especially when you came up in my social media feed as a free service. Can they really take my house like that?Business response

Dear Ms. *****,
I hope this message finds you well. We appreciate the opportunity to have provided roofing replacement services for your property. Our commitment to delivering high-quality work and fostering positive relationships with our clients is of utmost importance to us.
Upon completion of the project, we communicated the payment terms outlined in our contract, emphasizing a 24-hour window for payment. We understood and respected your preference for check payment, and you demonstrated your financial readiness by providing proof of funds, reassuring us of your ability to fulfill the payment promptly.
Regrettably, we have yet to receive any payment despite the completion of the roofing project over a month ago. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can arise, and to facilitate a smoother resolution, we have already extended a discounted price. Our goal is to make the payment process as convenient as possible for you.
In our attempts to address this matter amicably, we have encountered challenges. Unfortunately, we have received a series of emails during unconventional hours, containing inappropriate language. We value open communication and wish to resolve any concerns professionally.
To find a fair resolution, we have explored various options, but unfortunately, our efforts have not yielded cooperation from your end. After careful consideration, we reluctantly proceeded to file a lien on the property. Please understand that taking such measures is not our preferred course of action, but we felt compelled to do so after exhausting all other avenues.
We remain committed to reaching a fair and equitable resolution. If there are specific concerns or circumstances that we may not be aware of, we are open to further discussion. Our aim is to work collaboratively with you to resolve this matter and ensure a positive experience for all parties involved.Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We live in St Louis, Missouri, One Day Roofing gave us a reasonable quote for a much needed roof on our home. We spoke with Griffin, who set everything up, financing, and the crew to begin work. The crew which was sent to our home, they were very careless with everything they did, and no one spoke English so there was no way to communicate with them if we had an issue, we had to contact Griffin. The tarps that we were told would be placed, were not. They threw heavy roofing into the middle of our yard from the roof, damaging our child's very expensive power wheel, picnic table, bike, and a brand new window Air conditioner, among other things. They made a huge mess in ours, and our neighbors yards, and played loud music, causing many complaints from our neighbors as well. We are happy with our roof, but did contact Griffin to replace what was damaged. He began making ridiculous excuses as to why our items were broken and damaged, even after I sent him multiple photos and explained what happened. He is now ignoring us, we want our daughters items replaced, and the mess they left cleaned up! I would not recommend then for a roof after this lack of professionalism!Business response

****,
When we were made aware of the issue regarding broken toys, we promptly took action within 24 hours, committed to finding a fair and practical resolution. The challenge lay in the fact that the roof in question exceeded building code standards, featuring nearly a foot of multiple layers of roofing material, equivalent to thousands of pounds. Consequently, the task of removing these layers became significantly more intricate. This extra roofing material also occupied more space than a typical project, amplifying the complexity. Despite these challenges, our commitment to making amends remained steadfast. Our latest communication, dated October 18th, sought your input on a reasonable compensation for the damaged toys. Regrettably, we haven't received a response to this inquiry, which was sent almost two months ago. For your convenience, I've attached a screenshot of our email exchange. We are still eager to collaborate on a resolution, but to proceed, we require clarification on the compensation amount. Your prompt attention to this matter is appreciated. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
Thank you,
One Day Roofing

I arranged with One Day Roofing to put a new roof on my porch on October 11, 2023. After they left I discovered that they had leaned their ladder against the front rain gutter, such that all the rain it collected dumped out on the porch steps instead of being carried to the downspouts. I called about it, sent photos of the extraordinary waterfall they had created, and they sent a crew back on Sunday, October 22, 2023 who pounded on the gutter, but didn't water test it. The water still doesn't reach the downspouts. They admitted they know nothing about rain gutters, and claimed their contract allowed them to wreck mine, but they had left parts of the gutter, the elbow, on my lawn, which I photographed. I'm now having to hire gutter professionals on my own since they won't take responsibility for a repair for the damage I can prove they caused. I paid an initial $6,000, another $6,475, leaving a $1,000 balance I hoped would cover a repair which I only yesterday discovered will require $1,465. plus $75 I paid to a gutter repair specialist, a total of $1,540. I had honestly thought that One Day Roofing would assist in this repair. It is easy to prove that my rain gutters were functioning before the porch roof work: I just bought the house, and have an inspector's report noting that they were in perfect condition. I have photographs of the terrible sag left by One Day Roofing's ladder, and of the gutter parts left on my lawn. This is a completely renovated historic house in an historic district in Elkins. I explained this to One Day Roofing before I hired them, asking them to take special care, and they seemed to understand. But they just wrote me claiming that they weren't at all responsible for the damage - despite sending their crew out to try to repair it - and that they would not honor the warranty unless I paid the balance of $1,000 which I thought they would agree should go toward the necessary repairs. Thanks if you can help, ***** ******,Business response

Upon project completion, we encountered initial challenges when the customer sought to divide the payment, deviating from our standard policy of full payment per the contact. This divergence set the stage for our continued set of complications.
Shortly thereafter, the client reported a concern regarding a 3'-4' bend in a 45' gutter run. Investigation revealed a critical absence of bracket supports, compromising the structural integrity of the gutter run. Despite the fact that our policy doesn't cover pre-existing gutter issues, we promptly dispatched a crew to rectify the situation. This proactive step unveiled the missing brackets, a crucial support element.
In response to our efforts, the customer, *****, committed to settling the outstanding balance upon completion of the corrective work. True to our commitment to customer satisfaction, we rectified the gutter alignment, providing photographic evidence to assure the client of the resolution.
Surprisingly, the customer subsequently insisted on hiring an independent inspector before releasing payment (on gutters that we did not install). After more than a month elapsed, an unexpected demand surfaced: the customer sought a $500 reimbursement for addressing the missing bracket issue, an aspect present prior to our intervention.
Compounding our concerns are the customer's changing payment agreements and the steep pricing discrepancy. The proposed charge of $1,500 for a 45' gutter run translates to a per-foot cost of $33.33—nearly double the national average per-foot cost according to Angie's List. This price misalignment raises questions about the reasonableness of the customer's expectations.
While we consistently strive to amicably resolve issues, the combination of shifting payment commitments and exorbitant requests from the customer challenges our ability to find a reasonable resolution.
