Date of Transaction: June 12, 2023 The amount of Money paid: $399.99 Business promised to provide me with firewall protection The nature of the dispute; I lost access to my email. I went online to see if there was a way to restore email and found this company. When I spoke to them I was told that my email was restricted due to firewall issues. They offered to restore my email but it was necessary that I buy their package for them to restore. They also stated that the service can be cancelled if not fully satisfied. I gave them access to my computer and they found my email. I signed agreement to purchase (which included the cancellation rights) but did not acknowledge the email saying that I fully understood what I was purchasing. I did not acknowledge that email because the guy on the phone kept talking and ended the call with a recap of charges. That afternoon my son came by and I told him I got some on-line assistance to regain access to my email He showed me where emails can be hiding and that it had nothing to do with firewall or security issues. I had been pressured into buying something I didn't actually need. I decided to Cancel based on this information. On June 13 I called to cancel ###-###-#### twice. This is a voicemail and I left a message. I received a call from ******* who attempted to save their sale. After talking through the reason for cancelling, he agreed to cancel with a full refund to be expected within 2 weeks. It is now 3 weeks and no refund. I also sent an email to "supportsofwaresockets.com" (asking to cancel as is outlined in cancellation policy) on 6/13, with followup emails on 7/6 and 7/7. Still no responses. I have notified my bank. I called on 7/6 and 7/7 and left messages. No call backs. My complaint is that they are not honoring their cancellation rights policy. Even though they have assured me they would cancel and refund and they are have not. I am expecting a full refund as promised by *******.Business response

Hi Team,
As per the customer's desired resolution and our refund policy we have tried processing the Refund as the customer is not satisfied but it got failed as customer might have cancelled the card. Attached is the Refund Receipt of the same.And also we received the chargeback from this customer and the amount was already deducted from our account, So customer needs to check with the bank for the dispute status.

I am rejecting this response because: I talked to ****** from Software Sockets on July 15. He gave me this information. I spoke to my bank on July 17 and was advised that, even though a debit card is cancelled, Credits back to the card do flow through the bank with no issues. My bank has provided me a provisional credit of $399.99 while this is being investigated. They have reached out to ********** for assist on processing. Their attached document shows a voided transaction so how does that tie up the money/refund? According to a void, nothing has happened. I am working with my bank to capture that money back into my account.Thank you.

Computer scam in which they sold me a firewall program for $799.99 which, after hiring my own it person to investigate my computer, he found that the purchased program was not even installed. Just a scam to collect money. I have since cancelled my ** card on which the charge was made and this charge is being investigated by ****************Business response

Contract signed on 09-30-2022. Amount of $399.99 to fix computer for three years. Instead of fixing computer, they hacked my computer. and started to change my bank accounts. I called and was told that they couldn't fix it so they would credit my account. by direct deposit only. They couldn't credit my credit card. I called and canceled my account, on 12-2-2022 and was told that they would send a check that was two weeks ago, and no check or phone call since my call. I took my computer to a dealer and had mal-ware removed and cleaned. This cause a week of turmoil to change all my accounts.Business response

They were hired to resolve a software problem and did not do anything to help the issue. I asked for refund within 10 days, they agree but nothing happen. Now they don't ************* and don't return emails. Paid $299.99 and want to get it back.***************************Business response
