On 12/2/20, I signed a lease with a new roommate until the end of June 2021. The Highline apartment complex claimed to have run both a background check and credit check on the individual that moved in with me. They failed to mention that he had a record and had two open cases against him in which he owed money. This roommate began to make payments late in February and ultimately ended up owing over $1,500 at the end of our lease. This came directly out of my security deposit and I never got back the $710. The apartment complex is to blame for not only leasing the apartment to an individual who had a record for evading the law and failure to meet fiscal responsibilities, but also for failing to mention this to me who ultimately paid the price. My request is that I receive the rest of my security deposit back ($710).
