On 4/13/2024 I purchased a used 2012 Chevrolet Camaro SS Convertible from Heritage Chevrolet Buick in Owings Mills Maryland. This vehicle had 11,889 miles on it when purchased. I was also advised it had a 30 day warranty. On or about 4/15/2024 I observed a significant gap between the roof and the trunk lid and also the roof would not go down. I contacted the dealership and was advised by my salesman Shaun Little to bring it in for service. On 4/20/2024 I took the vehicle in for service and had to leave it for several days. On 4/25/2024 I went to pick the vehicle up and was advised that the roof was working as it should. I questioned the gap and was advised it was fine. I then met with the General Manager John ******* and showed him the gap in the roof and also showed him the roof on an identical Camaro SS Convertible they had on their lot. The roof on that vehicle was tight. He advised his service department was saying it was ok and he was not interested in fixing it and stated if it was his car he wouldn't worry about it. I then took the vehicle to ****** * ******** a convertible top repair shop in Millersville MD and was advised the problem was a bent #5 roof bow a common problem with 2011 and 2012 Camaro Convertibles. They stated they deal with Heritage frequently and were willing to prepare an estimate of repairs for them. I immediately called Mr. ******* and advised him at which time he reiterated he was not interested in repairing it and stated its a used car he can't make it new. I advised him it has a 30 day warranty and he advised that warranty was only for inspection items. Maryland law states a used vehicle can only be sold as is if its 6 years old AND has over 60,000 miles which my vehicle only as 11,889 otherwise they have implied warranties. This dealership being a Chevrolet Dealership should have been well aware that this was a common problem especially their service department and should have checked this on their vehicle inspection prior to sale.

The 2012 Chevrolet Camaro that Mr. ******* **** purchased from us in April 2024 passed MD state inspection prior to sale, was checked out by our Chevrolet shop after the sale, and he even brought it to a convertible top specialist shop, ****** * ********. Their owner, ***** ** ****, even wrote to us about Mr. Hall’s visit that “We talked about and he showed me the top operated properly  and had no water leaks. There was no sign or odor of any water leaks. I explained to him  it appeared to have a bent bow, however it would require leaving the car with us to have a technician check it out.” Peter went on further to state, “I contacted GM parts and found that the SUSPECTED part was discontinued by GM.” The issue is not a mechanical issue, operational issue, but , merely, a slight imperfection that Mr. Hall deems unacceptable even though the vehicle he purchased is a twelve year old automobile.

I was contacted by John ******* of Heritage Chevy Buick. however they have still not offered a reasonable solution to satisfy the dispute. He advised he was going to check and see if the Extended warranty I purchased with the vehicle would cover the repair but I have still not heard a word from him. So I am still in the same situation as when I filed the BBB Complaint
