My family of four all went for covid tests on January 4, 2022 at First Clinic. Prior to scheduling, I was assured the charge was $135 all in for each PCR test and that my insurance would pay a portion and I would be on the hook for the co pay. Insurance Cards were provided prior to attending. I then received an invoice for $147.37 (x4 -one for each person in my family). The total of the bill was $345.00 and my insurance had paid a portion, the remainder was $145.37. I called again on 4/20 to verify since it was so long ago. I was reassured that the cost was $135.00 all in and made sure to ask specifically if there was any lab or additional fees. The answer I received was NO. On each invoice I received I was charged a total $270 for “office visits”. 1) on 1/4/2022 for $175.00 (date of the covid test) and 2) on 1/6/22 for $95.00 - a date for which there was no service. I should not have a $270 for office visit for pre agreed upon PCR nasal swab in a parking lot. We never stepped foot in the office, we never got any vitals or anything checked by a dr. we did not receive a diagnosis and most importantly there was no mention of these charges when ASKED. I believe that their practices are intentionally deceptive and possibly do not adhere to the “No Surprises Act” passed by congress. Furthermore, my bill does not clearly state the charges are for. I got my insurance to clarify what the charges were and the medical codes used for the billing. This is what I see on my bill regarding the office visits::01-04-22 N/P COMLICATED $175.00 01-06-2022 EST PT EXPANDED $95.00. for a total of $270.00 Invoices: **** *********************** **** *************************** **** ******************************* **** *********************************** When I asked for help to get these charges removed, I was told to discuss with my insurance. I asked again to remove the charges, I was given the direct number to billing department. It is a person not associated with the clinic!!Customer response
