I opened up an auto policy with ********************* an Insurance Broker on July, 2018. Informed him that I would start driving for **** & **** therefore needed a policy that supported ride sharing. He quoted me $167 which was about $30 higher than a non ride sharing policy. I accepted and between 2018 & 2022 my monthly payment went up to $171. In all those years I drove with **** & **** with high ratings and great customer service. On 4/29/2022 I was struck by another vehicle The driver who struck me was given a citation, there was an eye witness of the crash and her insurance accepted fault. On that day I reported the accident to my insurance who was ****** but I was shocked to find out that my policy did not cover ride sharing. Fortunately for me the accident was not my fault and I was fully compensated by the at fault parties insurance. But if I had caused said accident I would not have been covered hence the reason I felt devastated and felt completely mislead by ********************* who knew that I was doing ride sharing. I suspect that ************ started my policy with a ride sharing clause in 2018 but believe that he changed my policy thereafter. I consider this an egregious violation of client trust and this type of practice should be investigated and reprimanded.Business response

good afternoon,
******************** was client with us since 2018 his original policy was with ***** **** ****** Insurance on that policy he did have the transportation network coverage for **** and **** until July 5, 2021 that we had to change him to ****** since the premium had increased on ***** auto, when we made the change we had added the transportation network to his ****** policy for some reason the system did not accept the change, so we directly called ****** to have this endorsement be added to his coverage, we were told by a ****** representative that this change was made and active, we were not aware that this had not been done until the day of the accident, we rely on ****** to make the changes since their agent system was not working properly. this would have been a ****** system error and ******************** know very well that we have always provided the right coverage as his insurance broker... we assumed this was done correctly by ****** since we had called them directly to add the transportation network coverage.. this was not an error made directly by the agency but a ****** syste error
