To whom it may concern. I purchased a brand new 2017 Kia ****** from ****** kia dealership in Rockville in 2016. In the first few months the steering wheel on my car locked when I came to a stop at a red light. The dealership corrected the issue with no problems and I didn’t have to pay. Fast forward KIA lost a lawsuit in court due to defected engines. My engine is one of those defected because I received a letter from KIA corporate office raising the warranty on the engine from 100k to 150k Fast forward. Approximately about 7 months ago my car oil level was low but no leak. The car was burning oil and a rapid paste. I complained to ******* ******** at Kia of Waldorf who was in charge of handling my car when I took it there for oil change. *** ******** told me not to add oil and once the engine stop working tow it to us and we will fix it for free at no cost to you and we will provide you with a rental. However I was taking my car to jiffy lube for oil change after that and every 3 days they top the oil for free because my car was burning oil. On Friday the 3rd I was on the highway when my engine stop working.. I took it to the dealership… *** ******** tried to charge me $155 for diagnosis but when I spoke to her supervisor he said no don’t charge him. Then on Monday 6th *** ******** sent me a work order than needs to be performed on the vehicle in the amount of almost $8000…. Mostly engine and other engine related parts. *** ******** claimed the warranty only covers the bottom of the engine not the top. My vehicle is still at the dealership and they refuse to fix it.

I bought a used car from this dealership in July of 2021. After interest, fees, and my $4,500 down payment I paid $30,373. I went to trade this vehicle in on 2/25/2023. When that dealership valued my car, it shows it has a branded title. I was never told there were any issues with the title of this car, I was unable to trade the car in. I contacted the dealership that sold it to me on Monday 2/27/23 and I brought the car in on 2/28/23, They believe this is a fixable error, They told me they would give me $8,000 for my car if I wanted out of it, which isn't even close to the value of it, or they would contact the MVA to get the title fixed. I asked them to fix the title. Two days later the salesman Called me to offer $10,000 or he would call the MVA which I had already requested he do because I am not taking that low of an offer on a car they sold me that clearly has an issue. I was told by the end of that week I needed to send in 3 recent service records on my car showing the mileage. I did that and still never heard anything, By the following Monday I called and asked to speak to the manager, he explained to me why I needed to send in my service records and that they would do anything to help expedite this process. I still never heard back so I called again on 3/10 and asked for an update and the salesman said he would check and let me know. As of this morning 3/20/23 I have heard nothing, I called the MVA this morning and was told by the MVA that the dealership hasn't submitted anything to fix the title. When I called the dealership to ask why nothing has been submitted but I have been told for 3 weeks they are working in it, the manager said "oh I didn't realize we were doing anything on our end to fix this" and then told me " I don't think we can fix this" But yet I was told multiple times it would be fixed.

Kia recalled ****** ** for engine rod bearing damage. Bayside of Kia "supposedly" replaced my engine and or replaced parts in my engine a year and a few months ago. My car has since started having white smoke coming from the exhaust, extreme loss of power, hesitating / putting badly when trying to drive. I had my car towed back to Bayside Kia and they tell me because I didn't replace the filter that was the cause. NOT TRUE. I have replaced the filter and changed the oil. Bayside Kia then tells me I have to pay over $6,000 for a new engine plus services fees when I am now told by Kia Consumer Affairs that "Kia Dealerships can use refurbished parts" to fix your engine and you are not given a new engine even if it's a recall !!! INSANE !!! So I paid the $150 diagnostic fee and then had my car towed to Kia of**** and they tell me I have to pay a $300+ diagnostic UPFRONT FIRST. INSANE !!! I then have my car towed from Kia of****** to a NON KIA DEALER and they diagnosed my car for less than Bayside Of Kia charged me and way less than the $300 kia of ***** wanted to charge me !!! The Non Kia dealership tells me that the ENGINE WAS NO GOOD !!! They also said no filter caused this. Whatever refurbished parts they used damaged the engine !!!! I've had my Kia ****** ** for over 4 years and 6 months and this has NEVER HAPPEND before I allowed bayside kia to work on my engine because of a RECALL rod bearing damage !!! If they do not right these wrongs and correctly fix my engine because of the rod bearing damage RECALL, then I have no choice but to seek Legal Consultation !!! I am missing working, doctor's appointments and traveling to see my kids because of this !!! I am very distressed, right now !!! Although, Kia is a great car, these car dealer service departments are nothing but overcharging crooks and criminals !!! I am asking that the BBB also forward this to Kia Headquarters. Thank you BBB,
