On June 10th, 2024, I contracted with Scesny Roofing for a new construction roofing job for a barn at my home in **********, ** (copy of signed contract is attached). I paid an initial deposit of $5625.00 (pdf copy of the cashed check is attached) with the understanding that they would start work in late July or early August. On August 6th, two days before they were scheduled to start work, Scesny Roofing contacted me demanding an additional $6800 above the original contract price or they would refuse to do the job. Despite offering to pay half of their proposed increase ($3400) they would not honor the contract. Scesny Roofing never completed any work on my property, but they refuse to return my deposit money ($5625.00). In addition to the signed contract, I have a series of emails between Scesny and myself that clearly document the agreed upon scope of work and total contract price. Despite all this, Scesny Roofing reneged on the contract. I have since had to locate a different roofing contractor at significant cost in time and money.Customer response

I have left several emails and voicemails requesting the return/refund of the $5625.00 deposit that I paid back in June, but have not heard back from the business in response to my complaint.
