First, I would like to apologize that ***** ***** was not satisfied with our work. In our industry it is hard to find someone to work on older machines. Having two dealers recommended us speaks for our work. Mr ***** brought us a 650 Suzuki Bergman (Big Scooter) that he had stated he bought in an auction and had set for over 10 years. I stated we would look at it and call him with an estimate. After our first inspection, we found it was overfilled with oil because the oil was contaminated with gas. We also found a mouse nest. Mr ***** had stated that he had cleaned. Either he missed this one or did not clean it as thoroughly as needed. When we started the machine it blew fuel and oil all over. First he had told us to just drain the gas. While we were inspecting the machine we found that there is no drain plug on the Bergman, this is why we topped off the tank with rec fuel. The bike also smoked excessively from the gas that was in the oil. We also found the crankcase breather plugged. When checking the air filter, we found urine and rodent debri on the filter, while taking it out we had food and waste all over our floor.
We called and told him that the repair was going to cost between $600-$1000. At this point we had not run the machine down the road, that is why we gave him this as an estimate. He said he couldn't do $1000 and he was receptive to approximately $600. When quoting service and parts especially on machines that have set we typically give ranges because there are many exceptions. We changed oil in the Bergman, and replaced the air filter as it was saturated with oil. We cleaned the mouse's nest and the urine from the machine. We made the machine run, and test rode it several times. He was anxious to get his machine back. Because Mr ***** said he did not want to spend $1000 and to keep him around $600, we performed the minimal amount of work he requested to get the machine going. While the machine ran well, anything that has sat for long periods of time can have additional problems and need to be worked out by test riding. When it left here it ran well and did not leak any oil.
The work order was for $678.76 and when Mr ***** picked up the machine he was adamant that I had told him $600, which was not true. He only paid us $600. Mr ***** drove approximately 30 miles to get home and did not call to tell us he had any problems. However he did call 2 days later and wanted to bring it back since he did not feel that he owed us the whole bill and only paid $600. We declined to work on his machine again.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:that was not what I was told, and never told the gentelman it sat for 10 years, I can even have the seller tell you it didn’t… he being nice and courteous now, I called him directly the next morning, soon as he opened.. he is a total lie.. he was very rude and kept hanging up.. also you have to drive it to see how it works, which I drove home, parked it, that evening it leaked both gas and oil, also why did he do so much work, for a gas change.. Also he made up all this labor cost.. I’ve talked wit business that’s working on it now, no where near what moto1 charged me.. was told he ripped me off, to only have more problems… I see why he has had bad reviews, and he no’s it too.. very rude when it came to me calling him about it, now trying to act nice, I Dnt know this man too lie on him or business, all I wanted was good service, and he didn’t provide, he saw a opportunity too rip me off and got mad when I called his garbage, it leaked, and I did nothing too it.. how would he no it sat that long, if Ima new customer.. he making story up to charge me, I would like a refund, so I can pay the business that fixed it properly.. thank you

      Sincerely,

      ***** *****
