      Resolved
Date of Transaction: 03-04-2024 Transaction Amount: $46,454.99 I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with a recent transaction at the Champion location in Brighton, MI involving the purchase of a used 2022 Jeep Gladiator and trade in of my 2011 Impala. On 03-04-2024, I interacted with the sales representative, *********************, and encountered a concerning discrepancy in the final transaction amount.I explicitly communicated my disinterest in purchasing any extra coverage or additional maintenance packages. Despite this, ****** informed me that Champion's maintenance/key/theft/clear coat package was priced at approximately $1500.00.During negotiation, ****** utilized a breakdown sheet with a blueish-green 'Champion' stamp to illustrate the overall cost. Uninterested in this offer, I stated my willingness to pay $38,500.00 out the door, aligning with the online advertisement.Upon my insistence on the $38,500.00 total, ****** presented a second breakdown sheet that still featured the 'maintenance' items, albeit zeroed out. The total, however, still exceeded the amount $38,500.00. I reiterated my desire to not pay any more than the advertised price.****** then indicated the need to consult with his manager to confirm the amount. Upon his return, he wrote $38,500 on the breakdown sheet, which I subsequently signed, under the impression that this would be the final price. However, upon returning home, I discovered an overcharge of $7000.00 beyond our agreed-upon amount. I also was not given a copy of the breakdown sheet that I signed showing $38,500.In pursuit of resolution, attempts have been made to contact the sales manager as well as the general manager of this location. I have yet to receive a response.I am deeply concerned about the lack of transparency and the apparent breach of our agreement. I trust that the Better Business Bureau will assist in facilitating a fair resolution to this matter and hold Champion accountable for their business practices.

I have finally been able to speak with management at the Champion dealership out of Brighton, MI. We were able to come to a resolution and I will be receiving a credit back against the loan for the additional charges. I am still waiting for the paperwork to sign off via Docusign, however, it appears a resolution is officially in the works. I should not need any further assistance from BBB at this time. Thank you!

[A default letter is provided here which indicates your acceptance of the business's response.  If you wish, you may update it before sending it.
      Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

While I am ultimately satisfied with the return of the money that I DID NOT agree to spending, I did want to respond that the original price I was told and accepted ($38,500) was not the final price that I signed for which is the entire basis of this complaint. I am unsatisfied with the unethical sales tactics used to coerce me to sign for extra costs outside of the agreed upon final price. I was not provided a copy of the original price breakdown sheet that I signed stating that I agreed to $38,500. The business has not acknowledged the existence of this original document and has conveniently left it out of their reply statement. Instead they continue to use tactics to avert the blame to the customer (supposed audio/video recordings) rather than accepting fault and apologizing on behalf of their salesman.

I also find it very concerning that it took several phone calls, voicemails, emails, and a BBB complaint to reach anyone in a management position at this business. While I ultimately did speak with a general manager and came to a resolution, it was due to my own diligence that this conversation took place. I never received a direct reply to my original correspondences to the management team.

My final request is that this business try better to communicate with their customers on what EXACTLY they are paying for and HOW MUCH these charges will be in the end.

      Regards,

I dropped off my vehicle for service on 8/2/23 with same day service previous appointment made. The dealer did not look at it until 8/3 late morning the next day. The quoted estimate was $165.00, I was then advised it was now $405.00, I declined service and still had to pay $165.00 to get my vehicle back when I told them what the problem was, and had the same service done previously back in 2012. The cashier was rude, and I was told to go find the vehicle myself. "*****" the service manager stated he would get my vehicle if I said "please" repeatedly. Words exchanged "all recorded", ***** then told me to find the vehicle myself, but he then went and pulled my vehicle in the street while mouthing off to me, "I stopped recording as he went to get the vehicle". I got into my vehicle to leave and old ***** to crawl back under his rock or wherever he came from, as he poorly represented the delaership. ***** accused me of "Racism" stormed back across the street, violently opened my car door and assaulted me three times. I had to physically push him off me three times. I was then driving off while he was still trying to get at me thru the open door driving down the street. Another dealership employee was outside yelling at ***** to stop!! I am 66 years old. A Livingston County Sheriff arrived at my home shortly afterwards, listened to the recording of the events I made to verify the facts, then he asked me what I wanted to do. I asked the officer to drop all assault felony charges against *****. The Livingston County sheriff has the incident report. The officer advised me I would be trespassing and be arressted if I came back per the dealership request. The dealership gave the officer a completely different story compared to my recording, per the officer. The BBB needs to notify the community of what type of lunatics they can encounter there, as this situation could have ended badly with someone seriously injured or killed.

Customer was charged a diagnostic fee to figure out what was needed for repairs. Fee was applied towards estimate for repair which customer then declined.

Customer was yelling at staff in the building while getting his vehicle, demanded someone pull the vehicle out of a spot for him then yelled told one of our managers to "go back to where he came from."  We do not tolerate this type of behavior from our team members and do not want to subject them to it.

Livingston County Sheriff was asked to let **************** know he is not welcomed on our property and is trespassing if he returns.

A public response is not appropriate since the police were involved in the interaction.
