On 9/6/21 We paid Doug Williamson of Williamson Tree Service, Firewood, Logging, Stump, and Tree Removal to remove five trees that were damaged in a storm. He said that he would start on the work that day, but once he got the check for half of the work ($2500), he left and said he would be back. He cashed the check at a quick pay place that charged him extra money for an out-of-state check. He did return a few days after and cut down two of the trees and removed some of the wood. He said he would be back the next day for the rest of the work. We were out of town, and he said he completed the work and asked for us to send him $2000 via Walmart pay so that he wouldn't have to pay for an out-of-state charge. He said he didn't have electronic payment options. He did say that one tree was cut down but that he couldn't remove it because there were bees around and he would come back when it got colder to do it. When we returned we found that there were hundreds of large logs strewn around and not removed. We contacted him many times (9/18, 9/20, 11/5, 11/10, 11/29, 12/19and he continued to promise he would be back for all of the wood. He had various excuses: he needed a new truck, he would be there Monday, the next Monday, etc., and never showed. We continued to try to reach him and a resolution but are now stuck with a yard full of huge logs and are out $2000 from our payment to him for work that he did not do.
