Grand Rapids Construction started work for me in October 23' and they stated that they would have this job wrapped up very quickly BY WINTER 23'. It is now April 24' and the job is still not completed. 6+ months later, with them not finishing the job, they also failed multiple inspections with the city which resulted in the City of Grand Rapids putting a lien on my home, hundreds and potentially thousands of dollars of fines, and a threat to put a misdemeanor on my record and seize my home. Since I sent them a notice of termination with 14 days to complete the inspections and work they have gotten the inspections improved with the city, but refuse to bring the rest of their work to an acceptable standard.

******* had hired us to assist with the reconstruction of his garage after a fire had occurred. Permit approval took 60 days but within 14 days of approval the exterior work had begun. Framing, siding and door installation was completed within 10 days. The extent of damage also affected electrical so we hired Red Hawk electrical to complete the work. Red hawk pulled permit and completed work but the inspector requested some changes be completed. Unfortunately Redhawk was delayed due to staffing and just the overwhelming amount of back logged business. With the permit it Red hawks name we had to wait or begin the **** for an electrician that wanted to start an unfinished job halfway through. Red Hawk completed work as quickly as they could and all of this was communicated through the citys inspection team. We didnt accumulate any fees the projects electrical simply took longer than expected. A separate part of the city had requested that ******* keep them in the loop as to project progress after Fire damage unrelated to the actual building inspectors. ******* failed to provide ********************* available via email **************** with updates and was fined $300 for failure to comply. We as a Curtesy removed $300 from Brandons invoice despite this not having anything to do with construction or our work it was a fine due to ******* not answering multiple requests to update from this branch of the city. We have never heard of someone being prosecuted for construction delays but the City has approved all construction and per last communication with ******* he was all set on all work completed and our resolution to pay unrelated fines as a curtesy.
