I contracted with Great Lakes Waterproofing Solutions in Spring of 2023 for a water leakage problem in my basement which had been on-going for over a decade. There was more than 1 source of leakage. GLWS came to my home 3 times over 4 months to diagnose and problem solve the leakage all at my originally agreed upon cost. The office personnel and the technicians were courteous and professional. I would recommend GLWS to any homeowner.Great Lakes Waterproofing Solutions, LLC Response

The crew that provided us their services were polite and didn't object to our observing their working from time to time. When asked a question they explained in terms that were easily understood. They worked well with other and efficiently. The work was well done and cautioned us to wait a couple days before depositing items back to allow drying to complete. I would gladly recommend them to others.Great Lakes Waterproofing Solutions, LLC Response

Hi *****, It typically takes 30-45 for the bentonite to completely expand and work at its full capacity. If you have any issues after that time frame, please let us know and we would be more than happy to do a repair at no additional cost.Review from Kaysee K

This company is a ******* My husband and I are renting his grandparents basement and we have a minor leak in the basement a few months back and they "fixed" my ****************** but the sad thing is... they already came out twice The first time they came out everything was good until we had a big downfall of rain it is NOW leaking on the other side of where the original leak was at, so they called and their response was to my in laws were "we will come out when we have time"About a month goes by.. they come out and tells them they can't come outside with then and watch they have to stay inside (which there was a young boy as well and assume it's the same young boy everywhere else is talking about with the SAME issues on here) as of 6/15/24 when we got that bad storm in ******* OUR living situation in the finished basement is completely destoryed after coming out twice now and it's not even the worst part.. why is that we now have a new huge Crack in our foundation with your company's **** that you use to "waterproof" it is coming out in piles on our floor? And when my we call the company guess what the responde was? "You don't believe in such a thing" and "How does the storm have anything to do with the basement flooding" are you serious? Now our foundation is completely cracked and the flooding the other side of the basement and also flooding the INTIRE BASEMENT when we first called you it was a MINOR issue. But you guys don't belive it that would ever ***** but why am I seeing more people that have dealt with you is saying the exact same thing?? But it's not your company's fault?Your company is a joke. The ******* Family In ******* I'd like to speak to someone about this who can helpGreat Lakes Waterproofing Solutions, LLC Response

We're going to give you the exact same response to the review you left on Google and on Facebook.
We’re sorry this has been such a frustrating experience for you and your family. The original work was done on 3/6/24 and when we were called for a repair on 4/12/24, we put Mr. Knowles on the repair list. All jobs, whether new or repairs, are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. We scheduled him for 5/7/24 and added him to our on-call list in case there was anything available sooner. This was absolutely the soonest we could get him in and was less than a month away from when he initially called us to be put on the repair list. Regarding one of our workers telling your family that they must stay inside and can’t watch the process, that has never been our policy, and we have never refused to let a customer be involved. Our techs are more than happy to show our customers how the process works, so I can only assume that this must have been some sort of miscommunication. Also, we would never tell one of our customers that we “don’t believe in such a thing” as someone’s basement flooding after a large storm. This is normal, and we have received an influx of estimate requests from new customers regarding their basements flooding due to the recent weather events. Our warranty and service policy talk about seepage and reinjection possible being needed. The following are mentioned in the service policy that was sent to Mr. Knowles: 1) “The potential need for an additional Bentonite injection may develop depending upon the home/structure’s soil type/quality as well as the numbers of voids under the surface. We will perform another injection under the terms of your Agreement, if appropriate and necessary.” 2) Bentonite is subject to expansion, which may force any excess water through the walls. Do not be alarmed if leakage continues for 30 days after treatment. This period is the time it takes for the bentonite to adequately expand and create the waterproof membrane barrier.” 3) “The water will find the biggest hole in the ground—your basement. Bentonite is an all-natural clay. It is pressure injected along the foundation to fill any voids or air pockets letting in water. IT WILL NOT STOP WATER FROM ENTERING IF AN AREA GETS OVERWHELMED.” Lastly, we gladly put Mr. ****** on a payment plan that he could pay at his convenience, interest free. We are in the business of helping our customers out and we want to address this issue with you. We appreciate you sending us the pictures. We will do our absolute best to come to a fair and reasonable resolution, but we would rather communicate with you respectfully than respond to defamation of our company.

******** Great Lakes Waterproof is absolutely amazing! We were having constant major water problems in our basement! We found paperwork from 3 owners back, 10 years prior that was for a life time warranty for the work they had done back in 2013. We reached out to them wondering if they would honor it. And they 100% did! They came out multiple times trying to determine the exact cause of the water problem. Finally, they found the source of the problem! And although it was 'not their fault' they applied a solution that has worked perfectly and still did it for FREE!! We have gone through the third wettest spring in the history of our area - and not one drop of water has entered our basement!! They stopped the floods 100%Thanks so much Great Lakes Waterproofing for all your efforts! I know it was not easy as we are about 2.5 hours away from your main offices! Yet you came out multiple times to find the problem and make sure it was fixed! So many companies find excuses not to honor warranties - but not GLW!! We highly recommend them!! Due to being a regional company that takes care of clients in a number of states - work with them on scheduling and they will 100% take care of you!Great Lakes Waterproofing Solutions, LLC Response

After researching 4 waterproofing companies I decided to go with Great Lakes Waterproofing last October 2023. I had benzonite injected across a good portion of the front of my home. I was told if we had water seeping after treatment, they would re-treat as there is a lifetime guarantee. It rained heavy about 5 or 6 weeks later and I had no noticeable water coming in. However, in February 2024 I noticed water downstairs after a heavy rain. I called and got nothing but a busy signal. I then decided to email them and haven't gotten a response still to this day. Now it's April and we had a good soaking last night and I have water downstairs again. I tried calling this morning and the line is still busy. I'm wondering if they closed up shop, and if so, what to do now. Allj of the companies I researched had some poor reviews including Great Lakes, but I went with them to save money and tho?e process was less invasive. Not certain what's going on with this company but I'd suggest looking elsewhere.Great Lakes Waterproofing Solutions, LLC Response

They are replacing my mothers air conditioning and can not seem to do anything right. They have to keep coming back to fix problems. They have now caused a crack in her ceiling due to incompetent workers. This is not the first time she has had problems with them. I would not trust them to do anything.Great Lakes Waterproofing Solutions, LLC Response
