      Completed poor quality work that violated standard practices and building codes. I had the work inspected and the inspector stated the work was sub par and violated code. I requested a refund because they have shown they are not capable of doing the work. The business stated they have no other workers to complete the work. The business refused to refund me and demanded I pay them the rest of the bill. I have an inspection report and am currently removing their work because it is leaking. Some of the new metal is bent incorrectly and isn't even attached. I have attached photos of the gaps and poor work. As well as it being removed showing the z flashing and j channel were not correctly installed.

      We reached out to customers, told them that we would come back out to fix any issues that they had, and they refused.  We also gave them a $750.00 discount off invoice, for the areas that they weren't happy with, which they think they don't have to pay for any of the work that was done, and that wasn't good enough.  They wanted us to come back and take off all the work that was done to their house which we told them would cause more damage to their property.  So, we tried to accommodate them but they're not willing to work with us. Here at Schmidt roofing we always try to make our customers happy and for most of them we do, there is always an exception for a few who you can't make happy no matter how you try. So once again were sorry that we couldn't work this out.

      I am rejecting this response because: the work they completed is currently in the process of being removed because it was actively leaking and not done correctly. We would of let them repair it but they stated they had no other employees to complete the job besides the ones that did it incorrectly the first time. The employees they sent appear to be incompetent and I don't want to have it removed a second time. This business has lost our trust in their ability to complete the job according to standard building practices and local building codes. We are worse off now than before we hired them. Everything they did is going to have to be removed. We want a refund, you can pick up your materials when they are all removed.

           First of all, Im very sorry you were dissatisfied with us, that is not our goal.  We have been in business since **** and do great work and we have a great reputation. When we finished with the work you and my worker walked around and you said it looked good, then a week later you call and said you were not happy and sent pictures.  So, we came out and looked at what you were not happy with, and we agreed that we would come back and fix the problem with no charge, and we gave you our apologies and explained that the same people would be coming out and you agreed to that then.  We tried to come back and take care of the white base boards and one piece of J-channel, then you wrote back and said you do not want us back.  People are not always perfect, but we are willing to make it right by coming back but you didnt give us a chance to, you tore it out by yourself and took pictures and tried to make us look bad.  By law, we cant come back to your house and take any material off your house.  You dont want us back to fix it so no were not coming back to tear stuff off or come back to pick up debris that you have done yourself.  You have never mentioned anything about the siding and fascia and all the other J-channel and spots and wrapping the garage door we fixed, so we as a company gave you a refund for the white ***** boards only and one piece of J-channel, everything else was fine.  Im willing to do a little better and meet you halfway.  You paid $2,242.00 and you owe $2,674.00.  Im willing to call it even, thats you getting a $2,674.00 discount.  You got siding, soffit and fascia and most of your J-channel fixed and got your garage door wrapped with aluminum, which was not even in the quote in the first place.  Im sorry you were not satisfied.  I wish you would have let us come back and fix your problems to show how good our work really is.  I understand it should have been done right the first time, but we all make mistakes and for that we are sorry.  I think the $2,674.00 discount is fair, we should get paid for the of the work that you liked.  The materials alone cost that.   Sincerely ************************

      I am rejecting this response because: there was not $2,242.00 worth of work completed in our home, none of the work completed can be trusted. Our inspection report recommend we remove essentially all of the work completed. The new vinyl siding was cut short in multiple places leaving room for water to get behind it, the new soffit needs to be replaced, and the garage trim that wasn't wrapped properly, isn't properly secured or lapped, the nails that hold on the weather stripping (that I had to buy) are not nailed into any wood, there is also damage to it that occured during installation. They only nailed through the metal, it began to start falling down a couple days after the work was completed. Literally all of the work that was completed needs to be replaced. Some of the drip edge on the roof was damaged by the workers and needed to be replace. We are worse off now than before we hired them. The money we paid for materials that are now unusable. These materials are now damaged and need to be removed and disposed of,  I will gladly return all of the materials once we have them all removed.

      We reject your counteroffer.  We stand by our offer which is more than generous.  We are out cost for materials and labor on your job.  Which you were happy with when it was first done. We offered to come and do what was necessary to make it right by you, but you didn't want the same crew back. Thats all we can offer.

      I am rejecting this response because I have had to have all your work replaced by a legitimate contractor. I will cut my losses at this point with the BBB trying to resolve this with ****** Roofing because this is going no where. The work that was performed my ****** Roofing and Siding was essentially fraud. I will pursue ************* to have the company held accountable for the unacceptable work performed. I am not required to let you redo the work or come fix it because I found out your scam. The workers scammed my family by doing poor work and purposefully trying to like it was done to normal building standards.

      Had new roof installed by Schmidt in August 2021, Cost was $10,532.00 completely paid for on 8-30-2021, Developed leak in center of house last week of June 2022, Informed Schmidt of problem next business day was told that they would be in contact as soon as possible. No response, called again on 7-8-2022 Same story no action, Went to business location on 7-14-2022 was told that I was on list and they would respond shortly. No action no contact. Returned on 8-1-2022 no explanation available as to why no response. as of 8-9-2022 no action or contact. I feel that over 30 days is long enough to at least make an attempt to solve a problem that is supposed to be covered within a 3yr warranty on workmanship. I contracted with Schmidt roofing for a new roof not a subcontractor and I expect them to be responsible for warranty work.
