I am submitting this complaint on behalf of my father, ***********************. On the night of April 7th, a pipe burst in his bathroom apartment (******************************, apartment #***). There was at least 2 1/2 inches of water throughout the apartment. My father called the fire department and also called the complex emergency number. Both parties came and they found the valve to turn the water off. This whole ordeal turned out to be a huge inconvenience for the next 11 days. During that time of course he had to find other living arrangements at the last minute. My father went to the apartment daily to check the status. While we understand items had to be moved and the floor had to be replaced, there were also fans blowing 24 hours. The fans were blowing so much, the neighbors complained about how loud they were. His electric **** is normally on average $49. The **** he just received is $123! The additional charge should not be his responsibility. When he went to the office when the incident initially occurred, he asked for his rent to be reduced $50 each day he is not in the apartment. He was informed that someone would get back to him. He moved back in his apartment April 18th. Now his television appears to not be working properly. He believes it may have fallen while everything was moved around. The complex is not willing to replace his television. He met with ***** yesterday evening and still no resolution. He has to wait again for someone to get back to him. Why is it taking so long for this to be resolved? This incident was not his fault! At this point, his May rent should be completely covered by the complex, he should be reimbursed for the additional electric **** charge and his television should be replaced.
