On 3/18/23 I purchased a gym membership for my minor son. Due to my sons ***************** schedule, we realized he would be unable to use the membership. This was after I already paid up to June. I called Crunch Fitness to cancel the membership. The person on the phone stated that I needed come into the gym to cancel in person. I asked for him to send me the policy that states that I have to physically come into the gym to cancel the membership. The person said I dont have to send you anything because Im telling you what the policy is. The next day after the phone call I went into the gym to cancel the membership. The employee at the desk stated that he didnt know how to cancel the membership and that I would need to come back in to talk with someone else. I told the employee that when I spoke to the person on the phone the previous day, they never told me when I should come in or if I needed to speak to a specific person. I was told if I wanted the membership canceled, I need to come in person. I gave the person at the desk my name, email, phone number and membership number, so he could relay to whoever needed to know to cancel the membership. I then left the gym and did not hear from anyone at Crunch Fitness but on July 18th a payment was deducted from my bank account fraudulently by Crunch Fitness store #*****. At this point I felt I was being harassed and taunted by them. Therefore I went to my bank and paid $30.00 to stop the automatic ACHs from being withdrawn from them. I then received a letter from a debt collector on behalf of Crunch Fitness stating I owed them $99.93. All months prior to my cancellation were paid in full and therefore do not owe this money. It is also not my fault that the employee that I saw when I came into cancel my membership was not properly trained at his job. I was instructed to come in person to cancel the membership and thats what I did. At this point I feel Im being harassed and my credit rating damaged by Crunch Fitness.

I have had a gym membership with Crunch Taylor, with no contract. I had a 50$ balance on my account, I decided to pay off the balance and cancel my membership. I have not been to the gym since then which can be proven by the last check in on the app. I noticed that they have not removed my balance that I paid off and actually keep on adding on to it and even threaten to send it to collections. I have tried contacting them and can't seem to get in touch with someone or get any type of proper explantaion.

I signed up for a membership in march/2020 right before the Covid-19 lockdown. I totally forgot to call and cancel my membership because we went on lockdowns and the gym was closed. fast forward, to 2023 I get a call that I owe 400+ in debt to crunch fitness. I got no calls or emails to remind me about my payments or to cancel. During the pandemic, I got sick with covid twice and had no access to the gym because of the lockdowns. And they were charging me the whole time without me knowing and expected me to pay all of it now. There is no way to get in contact with corporate to solve this, so I called the manager of this location. She told me the only way to solve this was to sign up again for a whole year of membership. This is ridiculous, I only went twice and they expect me to pay the 400+ or sign up again. They are forcing me to pay them for something out of my control like people have not been through enough the last 3 years with the pandemic. This is extortion and their way of business should be reported.

I have been going back and forth with one location in Taylor, MI as I'm out of state and wanted to extend my freeze. They apparently didn't have record of the initial freeze so I was charged during a period betweent ***************** being submitted. I said I wanted to cancel because the level of poor communication that i frequently encounter is more than i care to deal with. They blamed me for not having record of the freeze and said they'd cancel my membership as requested. Note I am currently out of state which is why it was frozen and why I didn't go in to do it. I asked for proof of cancellation and was told to stop harassing them. This is INSANE. I need proof of cancellation and the person below needs serious management training *************************** General Manager Crunch Fitness (Taylor, MI)P: ************** E: ********************************************************

They'll take your money, charge you when you try to cancel, and keep your money too! I got an annual contract and was then sent away (I'm active duty military) and I tried to have my wife get this contract cancelled. She called August 12th to ask about cancelling the account and was told, "no worries, just call back at the end of the month to check in on it", and she nor I were ever told that you have to go in physically to cancel the contract and we were charged the Annual Fee and a Monthly Fee (over $120!) on August 31st. She called again on August 31st (not having known that the transactions had posted) and was then told I had to go in to cancel the account and that we had been charged for the month of September. When she did go in to cancel (after a half dozen calls) and signed the cancellation contract, we were then told that we had also been charged for the annual contract fee. When we tried to contest that and get a refund, we were told that because the cancellation was signed that they won't refund but I had to sign the cancellation to not get charged again. That was a catch 22 that left me holding the bag and out $120.

He said nope Im all set and membership will cancel on the 30th. But I looked at my statement and there was a charge. I tried to contact but no one answered my emails or calls. Amenities that are being advertised for a membership are not accessible at the location.Saunas are constantly broken and unavailable for multiple weeks, water fountains are broken and unable to be used. When brought up to management no urge of satisfaction or apologetic energy is given to the clients. This has been ongoing issues for over six months. It is unfair to charge a membership when amenities are missing and not available for extended periods of time..

I tried talking to a manager for three months now, and still can't get hold of anyone. I canceled my membership about 8 months ago and signed the papers and the attendant told me that it will not renew. They have been charging me for three months now after the end of my membership and they give me the run around every time I call. I have reported it fraud on my bank and on my credit card, and reporting it to the ****** of ****** Business.
