My husband bought me the most beautiful blue diamond pendant. After a few days, I cleaned it with a jewlers cloth. Every part of the pendant, except the center blue diamond. BTW, there were no cleaning instructions in the description or with the pendant. When I called Stauers the young man was really obnoxious and said that everyone knew to clean this pendant with toothpaste and toothbrush. I was still under warrenty so they had me send mine back and they replaced it with a pendant equally as dark s the first one had become. Eventually we went through 3 replacements before we agreed that I would return my order and they would credit my account with the $300+ that my husband had spent on this miserable penant. My husband, a few holidays later, gave Stauers a second chance. He bought me an amethst set with necklace, earrings and a bracellent. Within a week of daily wearing the bracelet just fell apart. It seemed the Thread or any other material they might have used just broke from the clasps. They replaced the bracelet but their tone was one of not believing it broke on its own, and implied I had broken it. Well, you do know that some of their jewelry is gold plated. So was the clasp of the bracelet. Well the gold plated clasp is now silver looking. All of the gold plate has rubbed off. So, now, when I get anything from stauers, it goes straight into the garbage.Stauer, LLC Response

Stauer ripped me off. I bought a watch , it didn't work so sent it for replacement. They claimed I owe $900 for a purchase I didn' make, kept my watch and no refund or replacement. I am retired and on a pension and hey do this? That is fraud.Stauer, LLC Response

I placed an electronic order with Stauer on March 14. The order # was W4xxxxxxxx001 and it was a bundled item "54245 AQUA ON THE ROCKS NECKLACE & EARRINGS SET." When the set arrived, the necklace was tangled up and my wife said the plating was partially missing from the chain. My wife called Stauer customer service who asked us to return the chain in the prepaid envelope sent with the order. We sent this prepaid package back promptly. We have called Stauer several times and have had several promises to replace the chain. So far (2 months later) we have not received the replacement chain. I find their business practices horrible. The salesman named Mark calls directly to talk to my mother. They sent my mother at the end of December an item in the hope that she would "like the item and keep it". They also sent a bracelet that was returned. They withdrew the money from her checking account without authorization. AFTER, I asked them in an email, to send a detailed invoice so we would know for sure how much was owed on the bill so we could pay them. Which they would not send because I, her daughter, was not on the account. They then talked her into buying a ring and then withdrew without authorization again, another 209.00 from her checking account for the ring. Never received the refund. I believe they are taking advantage of an elderly person in the hope they will not remember. My mother is 87 years old and has mild dementia. They also asked for a copy of POA which I refuse to give a copy of to these people.Stauer, LLC Response

I ordered a wooden, walking stick from Stauer. It arrived bent & warped! I think it came out of a warehouse with no heat. I had to pay returns shipping onj it. like $20. The Company was SLOW to give me a refund & didn't seem to care that it was DAMAGED & a real REJECT.. Appears they will try & send you whatever they have laying in their warehouse & HOPE that you don't notice. All I can say aboyut them is "BEWARE!"Stauer, LLC Response

Low quality product aimed at the elderly. Their sales agent directly calls my father who has dementia, and there is a $5000+ on his credit card bill. My father says the jewelry that arrives has much smaller stones than pictured. Why does this business still exist.Stauer, LLC Response

Warning! Do not purchase from Stauer. Their watches are not worth the prices they ask for. Their metal surfaces tarnish and their fake “genuine leather” bands quickly fall apart. They only have a 30 day return policy and after that, one can expect a “tough luck” attitude. You are better off buying a cheap Chinese watch at Marshals, at least they have a much better return policy for items they don’t even manufacture. I've placed several orders. I just made an order by phone for the dolphin pendant for 39.00. Looked online, and it is 29.00. I have yet to use one of the $50 coupons. I still have 3 coupons sitting in front of me. Shipping/insurance is ridiculously high. Quality of merchandise is not that great. Very disappointed with Stauer and their policies and products.Stauer, LLC Response

If you think Stauer must be a good product because Smithsonian Magazine runs their ads, think again. The Stauer watch I ordered from the Smithsonian ad simply did not work. Not at all. Not for even one second. I paid Stauer a total of $56.64. The price of the watch was $29.95 and Stauer charged $26.69 for shipping and handling. In the original shipping package, Stauer provided a mailing label for me to use in case I wanted to return it. But if I use the mailing label, Stauer will deduct $12.50 from my refund. So I won't get back $29.95, I'll only get back $17.45. In short, if I return my useless watch to them, Stauer will have gotten $39.14 ($56.64 - $17.50) of my money AND will also get their watch back, which they will then, no doubt, send to some other victim. To prevent them from doing that, I am going to keep the useless watch. The whole scheme is a shame on both Stauer and Smithsonian Magazine. On the lovely made-in-China box Stauer provides for shipping your product, Michael ********* congratulates you on making such a fine purchase. Thank you for your feedback. Pre-Paid Smart Label located on the front of your invoice on the bottom right-hand corner. If you use the pre-paid label, no postage is required. Exchanges are FREE! For product returns requesting a refund, the $12.50 shipping fee will be deducted from your refund. No postage will be deducted if returned on your own, not using the pre-paid label.
