On August 31,2023 my sons father and I went to the school to check the place out in hopes that our child would attend. We were told as soon as we walked thru the door that the 5 day spots had all been filled and there was only one spot left in the school for the 3 day program. After the tour we left and went back to my apt where we discussed and decided we would send our son to this school. We then needed to put down a deposit to hold the spot. I emptied all my saving of cash in my house to try and put the money down. ****'s dad came up with $150 and I paid the remaining which was $274. I needed to get to another appt so ****'s dad ran the money up to school immediately. A few days go by and ****'s dad reaches out to me to let me know he was no longer going to be able to contribute to the schooling. I then reached out to the school via email to let them know. I was then told at that time I wouldn't get any of my money back. I was beyond shocked. I'm a single mom who had emptied out all of her savings to put that deposit down. I then asked well what if I wait and see about the 5 day program? (For me it would be cheaper than sending my son to 2 different schools). I was then told I would have to put down a whole other deposit. Which who in their right mind would do???? I asked if there was someone above her and she said an owner. I thought she was going to reach out to them to see if I could get any of my money back. I have yet to hear back from anyone. This whole convert happened over the phone. I had called up to the school when I found out I was getting zero of my money back. I had also asked where I stated in the paperwork I had signed that stated I wouldn't get any of the money back. She sent me a copy. That's when I realized it wasn't a paper I signed but my sons dad. No one sent a copy of that back with him. That's was the first time seeing this. I know I was never getting all my money back, but please if anyone can help this single mom get some money back

      RE: Complaint ********

      Dear BBB,

This letter is to acknowledge the complaint listed above.Once a family signs an enrollment agreement, the enrollment fee and first week deposit become non-refundable, this is common practice in the childcare industry for multiple reasons. It is unfortunate the father retracted from his commitment. However, because it appears the mother is struggling financially, and exceptionally, we are willing to issue a refund in the amount of $274. We will not refund the enrollment fee of $150.

If the mother wants to reach out to us, we will have a refund ready for pick-up or mail it to an address should it be provided.

We hope this action resolves the issue and satisfies all parties involved.

      Sincerely,
      *****************
