I have been trying for several months to get a letter at least of satisfied judgement because the notarized document from the court was not legible and would not be accepted by the county recorder in order to lift the lien placed by the the law firm in behalf of the party they represented in this case. All attempts made by myself and the court clerk have been ignored.Business response

I made one payment to Gurstel law firm( file number(1620828) but when I made effort to.make second payment using automatic payment .I had technical problems. The law firm is trying to coming after me for is a company that has gone out of business and has been out of business for several years. The company was charging high interest rate. For their consumers on their loans, knowing that they will never get relieved from that debt they will always be upside down. Therefore, the automobile was repossessed and on top of that the automobile had a defect. The motor blew on it, so I was not going to keep paying on an automobile with a blown motor and high interest rates to the roof, this debt is over 15 years old and they are charging the amount financed payments was made until the situation so the amount is not even right the company is not ethical at all they are doing cricket business I believe this was address with our attorney general office this company fireside as well as some other financial lenders have these loans out knowing consumers was going to struggle Im asking for this to stopped I received government assistance and has been and I will continue Im headed towards permanent disability the stress of this cricket company is causing major major stress I just want you all to step in they cant collect on a company that put consumer in a bad situation with the interest rate they was given therefore this needs to endBusiness response

I am rejecting this response because: this debt is 16 years old. I have all type of medical conditions I taught on the situation so hard when this first happened it was so stressful on my health and is becoming a trigger again on my ongoing health issues as mentioned before I dont have money I receive aid back then, and still receive aid, and probably will die receiving aid. Im almost to the point where I will be applying for Social Security.I just ask that you have mercy and relieve me of this burden. I try to give you guys $300 you refuse it thats a lot of money for someone like me.***** instructs his followers to pray "forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors

Gurstel law firm keeps garnishing my wages whenever they like over a car my ex-husband had 15 years ago. Ive already paid $12,000 and since then theyve garnished my wages three more times. They are robbing me and I dont know what to do.Business response

Got a letter today from this company claiming that I owe them nearly $2,000 from 8 years ago. First of all, I've never taken loans nor had credit cards that could have equaled that amount. I use cash. The way this letter is worded and addressed is supposed to seem like a threat of lawsuit. This company is trying to collect on bogus debts that are beyond the statute of limitations. The word unethical comes to mind.Business response

Gurstel Law Firm is currently garnishing my wages for a debt I paid off more than 6 years ago. I had a ***** credit card from a previous marriage that was charged off, and I settled the balance with a collection agency shortly after that. Two other collection companies attempted to collect this debt again after I paid it, and each time I disputed in writing, they followed the trail and found that the debt had been paid and stopped pursuing me for it. Gurstel began attempting to illegally collect this debt a little over a year ago. I did as I had done before and disputed the debt in writing. They sent me a copy of the original credit card charge off as proof of the debt, and I advised them that per my rights as a consumer, they had to show the trail the debt followed including any other agencies it had been purchased by. Had they done this, they would have seen that the debt was paid. I no longer have access to the payment record for this as it was settled 6, almost 7, years ago. They continued to pursue the debt and attempted to serve me for the judgement, but their "service" was given to my minor child, who they had sign for service. I disputed this entire situation in writing 3 additional times. Each time, Gurstel did not provide adequate evidence that I even owe this debt, just copies of their own paperwork. Each time I told them that this is not adequate proof and I am still disputing, and they still have not provided the correct evidence. I have explained the entire situation to them multiple times. They are now garnishing my wages for a debt I do not owe. I have filed a complaint with the attorney general and there has been no help or resolution. I am the sole provider for a family of 5, and they have taken more than a 3rd of my paycheck for a debt I paid off several years ago. They refuse to respond to requests for actual proof of this debt, and performed illegal service for a judgement they should not have even been able to pursue.Business response

I am rejecting this response because:
The documentation that this company provided me was for a ***** card that I had paid off. If this is not the account, why is that the documentation I was provided? Also I told your company that I wanted all communication in writing, not a cease and desist. I am more that willing to communicate with you in writing, either via email or mail, so that everything is documented. Why is your company unwilling to communicate in writing? At the end of the day, your company never provided the trail of the debt, which is required when a debt is disputed. You sent the initial account, which is one I paid off with another agency, and then your internal documentation for your filing for garnishment. The debt was more than 7 years old, Gurstel is not the first to attempt to collect. I paid this debt with another agency. Later collection agencies were able to find this when I disputed with them. Gurstel has not done their due diligence and my rights are being violated. You can communicate with me in writing as I requested several times.Business response

This law firm obtains consumer debt, doesnt notify consumers, then happily serves court orders. They make it impossible to speak with a representative. Their website is impossible to navigate. They dont provide a way to make a payment plan online instead they ask you to request them to contact you and they never do. When I finally got someone on the phone after trying for days, it was someone in a call center in another country who was very hard to understand, very rude, not helpful, and was bullying me into selecting a payment plan that was way too high for me or paying the full amount. They were straight up rude and insulting and would not offer an alternative. I have not been able to make a payment and again I cannot get help from anyone at their law firm. The only communications I receive from them are letters which come weeks after the fact, and they dont provide any info except more threats about taking matters to court. I filed a response with the court (which cost me money I already dont have) simply to say that I am trying to cooperate because I am afraid of them trying to *** me. All because of their lack of communication. Take one look at their ****** reviews and you will see many many many people saying the same exact thing. I am in this situation because of the Covid-19 pandemic. I am trying to make a reasonable payment plan. I cannot afford to be ***d, I cant afford their ridiculous amounts, and if they garnish my paychecks I will literally be homeless as I can barely afford rent as it is. I am rejecting this response because: The reason I have defaulted on my payments is the same reason for my original complaint to the BBB. Gurstel Law Firm has not made it possible to have good communication with them let alone come up with a reasonable payment plan. In their response they provided the same phone number that is on their website. The same one where I keep getting call center representatives from another country who are rude and pushy and refuse to help.Business response

I had a loan through Upstart that I was told was sold to ********************* I had been trying to contact Velocity via mail and phone to try and set up an arrangement before it was escalated past collections. Velocity informed me after a BBB complaint that Gurstel, *******, and Chargo P.A. was handling the account. Recently while we were away, our home was visited by a very aggressive process server. Gurstel, *******, and Chargo P.A. will not respond to my correspondence via mail or phone and voicemail. I am not liable for this debt with ********************* LLC or Gurstel, *******, and Chargo P.A.. I was never given any certified documentation or proof of its authenticity. I don't have a contract with them owning this alleged debt.Collection Account Reference ******* Amount $4,184.32. This notice is to inform you that you have unlawfully reported an alleged debt to my consumer report. Under the New Rule REGULATION F which took effect November 30, 2021, ************************ LLC has violated 1006.30A and its new rule by parking this alleged debt on my consumer reports. ***** and Desist the reporting of this alleged Debt immediately or I will escalate this matter to taking legal action. I have not given you written permission to put anything on my credit profile. You have no permissible purpose by law to contact third parties with my private or personal information. Ceasing communication If a consumer notifies a debt collector in writing that the consumer refuses to pay a debt or that the consumer wishes the debt collector to cease further communication with the consumer, the debt collector shall not communicate further with the consumer with respect to such debt. Gurstels records indicate that the verification of the debt was mailed to consumers address on February 29, 2024. To confirm, the correspondence was mailed to the same address consumer listed on her initial complaint filed and received on February 22, 2024. Gurstels records do not indicate that the correspondence was returned by the ************* *************** However,Gurstel will resend the verification of debt to the consumer by mail within the next few days. As stated previously, Gurstel received correspondence from Consumer on February 12, 2024, wherein Consumer requested a Cease and Desist. Gurstel has placed a Cease and Desist in our system of record and will not contact the Consumer unless it is required by law. We ask the consumer to please contact a Gurstel Account Representative at ************** if she still has not received the verification of debt correspondence within the next few days.
