We had an account through Zillow to have access to homes for rent. We found a home that we would like to rent and made the arrangements to meet with a representative of Fresno Management LLC to look at the property. The property was perfect for our family. We were then instructed to fill out the online application form and submit the fees ($50.00 per adult applicant) x 6 adults ($300.00 total application fees - non-refundable.) We did our part and the background check came back to us as clear. We were told that the move-in date would be October 21st, and pending any negative results of the background check we would most likely be able to move in on that date. Two weeks passed and we did not hear from them. We called the number that we had and were told that someone would call us back. Nobody ever did. We called again and were again told the same thing. Nobody ever called back. On the third attempt, we were told that was the phone for the maintenance worker. He gave us the number to the office. We have attempted calling the office about eight times, each time getting a voicemail, leaving a message and not getting a response back. I feel that they have just taken our money and had no intentions of getting us into this home and are now "ghosting" us. If we were denied the ability to rent for some reason, they should have contacted us, I feel that is our right. I am not sure if this is a scam operation, or just very poor communication skills. We are on a deadline to be out of our current home as our lease has ended and now we have no place to go and are ******* to try to find something else. Hindsight is 50/50 and we should have done our due diligence in checking into this company before going with them, but we felt that if they were affiliated with a trusted business such as Zillow that we would be fine.
