On 9/16/24 I purchased a gym membership through my insurance. The gym ** told me I was required to meet with the Trainer on site before I can use the gym. I met with the Trainer (actually is a Sales Manager) 9/17/24-10a. The ** pushed all Packages the club offers. We had an in-depth conversation about me working part time and I will not make payments. He flipped his paper over and wrote a custom 1 time training promo for me. He said he can offer me "a one time fee of $90 for 6 months of training, 1 day a week. I can do this for you as an introductory offer because you are a new member." I agreed. On his swivel pc he pulled up the agreement. I entered in my name and address and he turned the computer back to himself and then presented the "Agreement and Terms section for me to sign and initial. I had to go to car for my CC. I came back in and confirmed again, "This is a 1 time payment for $90 & it includes 6 months of training, 1 day a week, right? No further payments? " And he said, "Yes" So, I swiped my credit card for $90. Afterwards I asked for a copy of the agreement. He said it will be emailed to me and then took me to a training class. I never received the email. On 10/14/24 I was reviewing my bank charges when I noticed a second transaction for $90 on 10/1/24. I called the gym about the nearly $200. of charges on my account for my membership and asked them to call me. The ** texted me asking for specific transactions so I sent an email with bank transactions. After some dialog, I learned that I was signed up for a bi-weekly payment of $90.00 for 6 months! On 10/15/24 I stopped payments on these transactions as they charged my credit card a 3rd time for $90. At this time I still do not have a copy of the contract. 10/15 was the first date I received an invoice(via email) for $90. On 10/15/24 at 2:05p I received the first copy of the contract. 10/16/24 I hand delivered and video taped notice of cancellation to gym.
