We were notified that Lakes Gas was purchasing ****** Propane in the mail a few months ago. Last week we received a letter stating how we could purchase propane for the year. We never had a contract with ****** and just purchased propane from them as needed. This week we received a statement in the mail for a tank rental fee from Lakes Gas. We were never informed there would be any fees with either of the two mailings we had received. When I called Lakes Gas and informed them we never paid ****** propane anything in the past, they told me that ****** didn't charge a fee, but that ****'s Gas does and that they now own our tank since they purchased the company and we have to pay the rental fee for last year. Lakes Gas didn't even own the business that long. I flat out asked so I am being charged a rental fee for a tank for last year when you didn't even own the company and the lady confirmed that was correct. I will not be paying this fee that we were never informed of being charged for a time they never even owned the company. This is just wrong, and I know many other people that are switching for fees they weren't notified they would be charged. We will be getting a tank from another company and they can come get the tank. I do not feel we should be responsible for this rental fee.

We called about a contract for gas. We usually use 250 Gallons per year. They would only give us a contract for 500 gallons per year, at a cost over .50 cents per gallon more than a competitor. We therefore changed suppliers. The new supplier installed their tank and set the Lakes Gas tank aside. I called Lakes Gas to remove their tank. It has been over 6 weeks since I first called, and called several times since, and the tank is still here.

Lakes Gas owner is horrible! The company fabricated a contract by deleting parts of it and ignoring the org. They have also ignored any communication attempts I've made not to mention the 2 responses I did get from the owner (1. ignoring the fact that they had a fake contract 2. refusing to fill through winter) was rude and inhumane. We are finally able to leave this horrible company and they need to come take their tank. I have tried to reach out but get hung up on when i call and they seem to have blocked my messages so I cant even get them to take their equipment away. I would like them to come get their tank . I pay for a annual rental of their tank so I would also like a refund to be mailed to me . This is the WORST company. I know several other people leaving them because of the SAME issue. New neighbors have been warned to. Its sad to see such horrible business during these hard times.

I recently decided to change propane suppliers due to very poor customer service over the past couple years. Today the new vendor placed their tank and tried to transfer my 100 gallons of unused propane from my old tank to the new one. Due to the old tank (Leased from Lakes Gas) not being maintained properly the check valve did not work and the propane was unable to be transferred. I called Lakes Gas to come get the tank and provide a refund on my 100 gallons and they told me they cant haul it and they would charge me $100 pump fee plus only give me $1.20 a gallon for my leftover propane that I payed well over $2.00 a gallon for. They are taking advantage of customers that have no way to deal with situations like this. The problem is due to their faulty equipment and then they want to charge me on top of it. This is unacceptable and I have put in a call to the manager but have not received a call back yet. I want to get this resolved and warn others not to use this company.Thank you,*************************
