  My husband and I started building a home with Davis Construction and Development (***************************** Davis) in September 2022. ******* found it difficult to find accurate help and more than often would not show up to the job site and not communicate why anyone wasnt working. We use Iroquois Federal for banking and they do not touch construction loans due to the liability so *********************** has been in charge of dispensing our money to *******. My husband and I are new to the construction world and were never given the option of how we could dispense our loan money. Our budget for our build that ******* created based on our plans and discussion was for *******. In his contract he required 10% down and we wrote him a cashiers check for that. His first draw was for ******* and the bank cut his company a check for this full amount. The next draw was an additional *******. Another check was written out to him *******. ******* has a total of ******* and only has turned in three lean waivers to the bank. The invoices that the bank has shows clearly that ******* is not accounted for! ******, my husband, and myself have not had a conversation with ******* since mid March 2023. We have called, texted, ******** messaged and he will not return our calls. ****** did receive an email from ******* saying that he was depressed and ashamed he could not complete the project and didnt know how to proceed. ****** responded back to him and got no response. We hired ********************* & associates to write a formal letter telling him he had 10 days to return to the job site and to turn in his banking information to show where our money has went but he never showed up. On the nineth day, he emailed our attorney ********************* and told him he would bring everything in that day or the next and never showed up. Our home has not been sheeted still so it has received quite a bit of damage with the weather and everything being exposed. We have hired *********************** to dry in the home but his bid to complete our project is 3x the amount of our remaining budget with the bank. This is not ******* Davis first time doing this either I have learned since all of our misfortune unfolded. ******* started a project on Chauncey Heights on highway 7 about 5-6 years ago and got to the same stage where we are and slipped away with someone elses money. The lady tried to sue ******* but never got her money back. Ironically, the lady could not finish the house and **** (our builder to dry in our home) bought the home from her.
