Took my car in to Meineke on ** *** ****** parkway, Thursday, December 2, 2021. Spoke with ****, explained my car was making a loud noise when braking. He took a look at my car, took front brakes and rear brakes off. I had already told him that the front brakes were new and so were the rears because my stepdad had already replaced them last year. He looked at the brakes, called me out to the shop explaining how bad they were. Told him I didnt see that, so he took me to a white, pick-up truck and showed me the deep grooves in the rotors of the white truck, and then took me back to my car saying mine werent as bad but they needed to be replaced. I told him no. Do not replace the rotors. I told him if the brakes needed to be replaced then I guess go ahead and replace just the front brakes. He took the rear brakes off told me there was a lot of brake dust in there showed me the brake dust in the wheel and there wasnt a lot in there there was some but not a lot. He told me they needed to be adjusted and cleaned. I asked him how much it was he said $39.95. I said, I guess go ahead and adjust it and clean it but do not replace the back brakes. He told me that the front brakes would be about $124, and the adjustment to the rear would be $39.95. So I agreed to adjust only back and replace brake pads on front. Later that same evening my car started making a horrible, loud noise. It was after Meineke had closed for that day. I was so scared to drive my car so I went ************* it. Mind you I just paid $164 to get it repaired which was supposed to eliminate this noise issue or so I was told. The next morning, Friday, December 3, 2021, the noise started up again as soon as the car had been in motion for about 15 minutes, so once I stopped, I called Meineke again, spoke with ****, told him what was going on. **** became very defensive, telling me not to throw stones. He said they didnt do anything wrong. Then he hung up on me. Called him back he said he thought I was still there? I told him I needed to have the car looked at because I didnt feel safe to drive it. He asked what time that morning can I come by? I told him I couldnt because I had to go to work and I would have to do it Saturday morning December 4, 2021 instead. I mentioned to him that the invoice says that he replaced the rear brakes and I specifically told him no not to touch the rear brakes. He asked for my phone number and then he told me that he wrote the invoice wrong. I asked him what exactly did you do to the car? He said that he replaced the front brake pads and he adjusted and cleaned the rear brakes. I asked him why the invoice did not say this, and he said that he did it wrong. I asked for an updated invoice to reflect the correct information. He said did you want to pick up the invoice I said no can you email it to me? He said I dont have your email. I said well I will give it to you just this one time so you can send the updated invoice to me. I requested this on Friday, December 3,2021. December 4 Saturday I still had not received the updated invoice. I called Meineke again and spoke with ****. I asked him if he had sent the invoice that I requested the day before and he said no he was too busy. that evening I received the invoice on Saturday, December 4th, and the invoice says that I had the repair done on December 4 which was a lie. I had the repair done on December 2. I decided not to take it back to Meineke. Instead I decided to take the car to a dealership to get it looked at because the trust had been broken with Meineke. The dealership service manager went for a ride with me in my car. He couldnt believe the loud horrible noise coming out from underneath my car. He knew exactly what the problem was and they fixed it but unfortunately it cost me another $201.65. Meineke bent the wheel trying to get the brake pads back on the car in the rear when they adjusted the rear brakes. This caused the car not to be safe to drive. I went and wrote a review on Meinekes page and they deleted it. I wrote another one today. I contacted customer service on Friday, December ****** to report this incident and have heard from no one. I want my money back for the damage they did to my car, and I want them to pay for the repair that I had to have done in order to fix it to where it would be safe to drive on the roadways. This is what Meineke should have done!Meineke Car Care Center Response

*******, there is so much to unpack here and not sure where to start. I will just state the facts and let the general public sort through what makes since. Time does not matter as it relates to brakes, its miles. ***** we don't know how many miles were on the car when your stepfather put brakes on we can assume it was long enough in the past to wear out the current set of brake pads. This was something you were able to see yourself while reviewing the car with **** in the shop space. We prefer the practice of showing our customers what's wrong, it removes all the doubt for what's needed. Lets start with the fact that any reputable repair shop will tell you that when you install new brake pads, a new rotor "surface" is required to get the most out of your brakes. This is the reason I'm sure your stepfather put new rotors on the last time the brakes were done. This is exactly what **** was explaining to you and why he showed you the truck with heavy ****** to help you understand what you were looking at. It is our job to make safe recommendations and its up to you to decide what you want done. Your request was to do the least amount possible to make the car safe to drive. That is exactly what we did because you declined 2/3rds of the repair shown on your invoice. You also stated the noise is from a bent "Wheel" and I will tell you that would be next to impossible without being involved in an accident so something is wrong with that concept. You on called on 12-2-2021 about a noise and we tried to get you in that day. You were not available so we made an appointment for 930am on 12-4-2021 Saturday but you chose not bring the car in. I have no clue what really took place but I can tell you this fact, you cant replace a wheel for $201.65. It is also odd you have to drive the car for 15 minutes to hear this noise if something was so bent but I have seen lots of odd things in my time. As for the rear vs front brake pads billed on your invoice, I will remind you that you requested a quote for both front and rear brakes from **** and he decline the wrong parts. ***** we can not backdate an invoice for security reasons, issuing a new invoice showing front brakes vs rear was a simple fix. The invoice 2 days after your original repair only extends your warranty by those extra days so this is a plus not a negative for you. Lastly nobody but ****** can delete a review so that did not happen from our end. If that were the case not a single company would ever have a bad review. We are not perfect and never will be but if you don't give us a chance to help you or make something right then there is not much we can do. I would like to see the invoice from the shop to see exactly what you spent $201.65 on, its not a wheel I am sure. I will take that under review, if a refund is warranted I will be the one who makes that decisions. I will reach out to you directly if needed, I have zero to hide. Forward a copy of your invoice to ********************************** attention *****. Thank you ***************************
