So. On December 12th 2019. I purchased a 2*** ****** ******* *** *** from carsmart of farmington. The car was advertised as “life time powertrain warranty for anything under 100k miles and or newer than 10 years” i was told that if I had any mechanical issues with the car, IE turbo. Engine. Transmission. Supercharger. All I’d need to do is pay a 100 dollar deductible. And they would fix/replace the damaged part. I purchased the car with 66k miles. it is now 2023, and I currently have 78k miles on the car in the 3 years I have owned it. I am now experiencing issues with my transmission’s shifting. Back in October (2022) I took the car to a shop that had it a week, they got back to me saying they denied the claim due to modifications (car was bought with them and the dealership listed them). When I told the dealership why it was denied. I was then told take it to another shop by the dealership (carsmart) I took it to “their” guy. he had the car for 4 months, I waited patently, after 4 months, I started to get impatient, I talked with the dealership that then said it was denied again. And there is nothing they can do about it. However, they offered to pay “half” of what it would cost to replace the transmission (3800 dollars) they said they would not honor the warranty bc “the car had too low of mileage to have issues like that “ and “that I must have beaten on the car” so they couldn’t do anything about it. I also got in touch with the previous owner of the car. Which he stated “car had a 4th gear grind” when he owned it. and that’s the issue I am now having, so it’s been a problem with the car since before I got if, and I tried to show that to the dealership. But they showed no interest and said there’s nothing they could do. i just want my car fixed. And based off the contract I signed at the dealership for the lifetime powertrain warranty, I don’t feel I should have to pay “half” the total bill to get my car fixed.
