We began communicating with ***** on Feb 22, 2023 to build a screened porch attached to our home. The original estimate was $19,500 which we agreed. The original estimate increased to $22,500.00 due to concrete prices increasing and we agreed on that amount. He began working on the project on June 13 after we paid $6000.00. The gap in time was due to obtaining a survey, for which we paid as well as permits and drawings. ***** removed the existing wood deck and hired his nephew to pour the concrete base. That process included a loud disagreement between ***** and his nephew because ***** failed to order enough concrete and the remainder had to be mixed by hand. Following that ***** started the framing for the porch and some days had zero help with him so my husband helped on multiple occasions. We paid an additional $6000.00 on June 30 and the framing was mostly completed and shingles were placed. Only partial gutters were installed. ***** asked for the third payment of $6000.00 on July 7 and he was issued a check [which was cashed] . There was a discussion between ***** and my husband about us hiring a licensed electrician to do the electrical work since ***** is not licensed. After Monday July 10 calls, text messages and an email have gone unanswered. I have 30+ pages of screenshots from text messages. We want the construction completed to our satisfaction and also pass inspection as there has been no inspections to date.

I reached out to the consumer on August 28, 2023.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:  When we finally heard from ***** after MONTHS of no contact we set up a time for him to bring the siding that we paid for and when he again didn't show or call there was a flurry of texts which I've attached  .After not showing up at the agreed upon time, the text thread began. I apologize for the quality.  The lighter boxes are my husband's texts and the readable ones are from *****.  As I previously stated, ***** only reached out to us AFTER he was contacted by our local permit office to let him know his permit was cancelled.  After months went by and no word from *****  our only option was to hire a new contractor.  In order to do that we had to close his permit after an inspection which found some errors that the new contractor had to fix.  I am certain that had we not hired someone else, thereby cancelling his building permit we would still be waiting to hear from him.  This clown shouldn't have BBB credentials.  I've been trying to get this resolved for months with you and it's only been his complete lack of communication that has stalled the process.  That alone should give you a clear picture of how he conducts his "business".  I also have an ongoing complaint with the MO AG.  Again, they are waiting, in vain I'm sure, to hear from him.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ********

I refuse to address this anymore as it has been and was agreed upon and solved back in August, I will be pursuing legal action if this slander doesn't stop

I thought you closed this case after the contractor told you that he had contacted us.  Since you recently sent him a message regarding this case he has been sending emails to me threatening legal action for slander, as noted in his message to you.  Given his threats we just want this to go away.  How he maintains his BBB credentials is a mystery to me.
