Abernathy installed new vinyl siding on my house in January of 2021. The job is supposed to be warranted for a period of 5 years. Almost immediately the siding on the west end of my house came loose in the wind. I called and they came out and sort of fixed the problem. After that, they quit returning my calls and I would have to fix the problems myself. About two years ago, they sent a man out who attempted to fix the problem again, but it didn't hold. They have ignored my calls for two years now, i have been trying to fix my own problems but I am getting too old to continue. I need them to fix the job right so it doesn't blow apart in the wind. It is currently blowing apart again and I need help with it but they don't return my calls.Business response

H32323131313034**3235H has been to my house 4 times to work on my house. Some of the decking needed to be replaced near where the chimney was. They have had an inspector come out to inspect the roof and they gave it a good rating. I had my son check on the roof to make sure the leaves were blown from the gutters on 4/12/24. I hear him call me to take a look at the roof and I see him sinking where the chimney was taken out. Everywhere else is solid but it appears where they patched up where the chimney was is not as solid. Whatever they did to the roof is not solid enough. Even just looking at it from outside the shingles where the chimney was looks wavy, almost shaking. The foundation doesn**;t seem solid. I have tried reaching out to them multiple times but have not been contacted back. I was able to reach a lady at H32323131313034**3235H that said they would call us back, but never heard anything. When I try to call now, no one has been answering. I still owe 7 grand for my payments on the roof but I need this fixed asap.Business response

Here at Abernathy Roofing our number one priority is to ensure complete customer satisfaction. We are sorry to hear that you are still having an issue with the roof area where the chimney was removed. We have replaced the decking in that area as well as added extra support beams where needed. The owners have reached out to you in an effort to come to an agreement to come back out to the property to add a few more supporting beams going the other direction of the ones that have already been installed. We have a crew that is on the schedule to come resolve this issue as soon as we receive the permission from you. The date was 7-27-23 and 7-28-23 I had damage to my roof that the insurance company deemed damage by wind. We paid Abernathy Roofing over 23 thousand dollars to roof our home which consisted of correctly re roofing our home. They did not finish the job, we have work that has been half done and then they told me they were charging a covid fee and travel fee. I have work half completed and not correct in many areas.Business response

We were contacted by Mr. **** to do a roof replacement and upon inspection there were additional issues that the Insurance did agree to pay to have replaced or fixed. The work that Abernathy did complete was the roof replacement along with a partial gutter job to include some downspout replacement. There were items on the initial scope of work we were not able to complete because we do not have a local crew that could provide that work. This was explained to Mr. **** several times and Mr. **** got argumentative and did not want to hear explanations. Mr. **** was never charged a travel fee or a covid fee. We have never charged a covid fee. Mr. **** was made aware of a travel fee for out of area sub contractors to be brought in to do the type of work he was requesting, as we always try to be transparent in any additional fees that a customer might be charged to complete requested work. Mr. **** declined to pay the fee so we had no crew to complete his work. We did refund the money to Mr. **** for all work that was not being done on his project as well as filed a supplement request to his Insurance company to help Mr. **** with these expenses that was paid directly to Mr. ****. All documentation concerning this Insurance claim has been provided to Mr. ****. All work has been completed per the signed agreement between Abernathy and Mr. ****.
