I have had consistent issues with the employees at this location. I have been a customer with Commerce about 4-5 years. The most recent issue happened today, 10/11/2024. I went into the lobby and told a young man I needed a notary. So, I am asked to come to counter. I lay the document and my drivers license down and explain what the document is and that the middle section is what I need to sign because I am electing my retirement to be sent to me. So, I show the young man where I need to sign. He pulls out his directions about notarizing reads trying to figure this out. This entire time sitting next to him is the branch manager. On the document it states: AT THE TIME OF SIGNING HE/SHE APPEARS MENTALLY ALERT AND OF FULL MENTAL CAPACITY. This kid says I can't notarize this and I said oh how come? He says well I don't know if you are mentally alert and of full mental capacity? I about fell over. Now mind you I just explained to this kid what the document was and where I needed to sign due to my selection. Not mentally alert? I said you have got to be kidding me? The bank manager says nothing, does not get up to help! Maybe it was the silver/blond/white hair and the fact that I do have wrinkles since I am in my early 60's !! I said I can't ******* believe this because they both just looked at me and would not help. The branch manager finally did something she said don't use that language in here and told me to leave! I left called customer service and they said well they cannot determine if I am of sound mind. I read her what it stated about mental alertness, etc. She said well , you probably have to go to a doctor and just make sure they have a notary. This not the 1st time a notary at this location messed up. About 2 years ago, one stamped and signed in the wrong place and I had to go thru a lot of trouble and new paperwork/time to get this straight-no apology from this location. So, I will be moving my accounts to another bank after the holidays.
