All looking for is an ‘I’m sorry’ & POSSIBLY change in business practices-it is biased against elderly, handicapped, illiterate & poor. When elderly are not tech savvy, when poor, elderly, handicapped and illiterate may not have a cell phone or internet to use to resolve a power disconnect, it is an unfair business practice. When service is disconnected because an elderly person doesn’t realize Evergy changed payment due dates that they have had for over 30 years so they continue to use their old due date not realizing it changed, they simply subtract prior month payment from new bill thinking it crossed in mail, then Evergy disconnects their power - even tho Evergy received payment in amount of $337 (monthly bill paying that much every single month), but because that customer made a math error of around $22 short, Evergy disconnects them. Never bill for $22 shortage so elderly customer can understand, be alerted they didn’t pay enough. Evergy sends a text message Saturday saying power out due to wildlife issue. The elderly calls on a Sunday as their power is still out and elderly is told it is out due to non payment. The Evergy person on a Sunday can’t take payment or tell you if payment of $337 received for September. Directs you to a website which elderly do not generally use websites. So elderlies SIL has cell phone with internet to go on website and it shows NO past due, it shows current due and a future due date of 10/9 and it’s 10/6 today, shows two different ‘current balances’ not reflecting the other ‘current balance’ is with late fee, but it shows no disconnected notice, no past due amounts, all looks current and current due. So the elderly pays future balance due power comes on. Evergy cancelled power for $22 from a 30 plus years customer, always pays these high bills, pays late fees due to date due changes they didn’t realize, never complains, and WEBSITE is flawed as they look current on bill. Due date 9th, turned off on 4th - not 30 days even.

I transferred services, and some how they didn’t receive the stop service and now I’m responsible for billing at my old address. Then when calling they are super rude and said sorry you’re not smart enough to select the right option to stop service. Do better

I have been given the run around by Evergy for over two months when it comes to getting a tree branch removed that is within 5ft of a line that is going poll to poll in my backyard. I am trying to have the tree removed from my yard and every tree company I have spoken too has said that Evergy needs to remove this branch over the line before they can do anything else. The first report that was given back in July was brushed off by a "crew member" as a "non-threat". I only discovered this because I called 3 weeks later for an update and found out that they put this in the file and no one was going to call to update me on this. This led my to file my next request, reclarifying that I am having the tree removed and it again, as said my the tree companies and evergy's website, they are responsible for removing. This request went another 3 weeks without any update. I was unable to obtain of any supervisor or manager for any department in evergy and was told that "all the information is internal" so she was unable to give me any information. This is a company that I have always paid bills on time and in this situation is lying and being decieving in their practices.

ZERO STARS Bureaucratic Hellscape. After HOURS on the phone, Evergy provided false information to me *as well as my bank* in order to secure funds from my checking account. They've claimed that this was merely human error, but their lack of accountability points to malice. It sure feels like FRAUD. Is it? They've made no effort to remedy the situation, and Monique, the "supervisor" continually raised her voice, talking over me at every opportunity. Evergy is refusing to issue a refund in spite of their "errors" and admittance. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I’ve paid my bill the same time every month……suddenly I have an extra payment that I owe…..when I called to dispute it, they said that because my payment was a few days late…….i gave an entire extra payment. I have paid the same amount every month……no balance forward until May…….snd they don’t have the payment from the month before subtracted…..called and they told me I owe it…… found a statement from last year ……the exact same thing happened.

Continues to charge you for service at a location you no longer live at because their policies say they need at least 24 hours notice and "don't work on the weekend". You are a utility you are operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You choose to put policies in place that allow you to charge customers extra. It is scummy and you should be ashamed of how you take advantage of people who have no other option.

Reporting them to FTC there is definetly foul play afoot in their company all of the power grid goes down just because it's slightly windy for an hour or two and all power is off for half a day. This happens regularly too. Never use to have these problems until they became Evergy. Their disservice to the KC metro and it's population is abhorrent. Also whatever government entities backed Evergy and its contract monopoly should be held accountable too.

The citizens of Kansas City are the last go have their power restored. This should be illegal. When everygy has the capability to place a all hands on deck to have peoples energy restored in a timely fashion they do not. Before it was evergy this was not the case. Individual repairers where dispatch from all over to help. This does not appear to be the case. In viewing the evergy website Kansas City is listed last, why?

Evergy had to be the most unworthy company I’ve ever dealt with. After being without power for 12 plus hours in the heat, food spoiling, I decided to call for an update, the update- We’re unsure when your power will be restored as we work the areas with bigger outages first. We haven’t assigned a crew for your location. But yet it was 6 trucks 2 miles away at McDonald’s 9am this morning. I pay my bill every month like every one else. It’s not line up arrangement if I skip a bill! They’re atrocious. I hate everything about Evergy.

Keep sending a strong arm to collect payment like some kind of mafia. Never polite about it either. Refuses to turn electric back on in a timely manner. Has no problem allowing disabled young adults in the dark. All this even after I paid their bill.
