March 2024 - KC Deck Services The vendor was supposed to replace rotten wood stairs and replace with like including spindles along the exterior. Vendor installed stairs and we found the stairs were all different heights and the decorative spindles were all falling out. The top stair has a height of 6” the bottom stair has a height of 9”. When we reported this abnormal height and spindles the owner claimed this is how the stair code is written. There is no online references indicating the owner of kc deck is correct. Online the difference in stairs should be max 3/8” with each stair 7.5” or less. The owner sent two men to repair the spindles only. Then they only repaired three. I contacted the owner again and told him this is wrong. I expected this to look like a decent step of stairs. He then says he is the owner and he’s not going to do anything. Also that I have no right to expect anything more without paying more.
