      Ive had bad experiences at dealerships before, but this one takes the cake. We purchased a used truck with cash and they fought us for their fees; that should have been a red flag for us to leave.Four months and less than ***** miles later, the engine completely died on us. No turnover, just black smoke, then dead. Not only that, but multiple mechanics looked at it and informed us that the ball joints were bad, the sway bars were broken, and the rotors were warped. How on earth did this pass their Missouri safety inspection that THEY completed? When we went back to them, they said they couldn't do anything, & claimed that our wheel replacement (which were properly balanced and the exact same size/width of the tires that came with it) was the culprit of all of the other issues.The engine replacement was $9k after we already paid $25k. We used all of our savings thinking we would drive until it couldn't run anymore, & they KNEW that. We were devastated. After some heated discussions and NO apology, they gave us a check for $3k and said that's all they could do; it was almost like hush money. They even had the nerve to say that WE should appreciate THEM.Come to find out, the engine, ball joints, sway bars, and rotors werent the only thing wrong with this truck. We've now found out that the catalytic convertor is bad; $9k for the engine replacement, then an additional $5k+ for everything else.If they really did a safety inspection, this vehicle shouldnt have been sold as-is. We strongly believe that they knew about these issues and chose an immediate sale over customer service & a proper inspection. When we went back after finding out about the additional issues, the manager said they had already contributed $3k to "make things right", & threatened us to leave a bad review.We sold our 2021 GMC AT4 for this truck, and unfortunately could have had it paid off by now. We've shared our experience with our ****************** and we warn you too.

      Bought a certified pre-owned Ram 2500 diesel here with 9500 miles on it. Was in ******** traveling from ** when I bought the truck from James River CDJR. It had issues with the **** ECM, EGR, and boost that the dealership knew about when they sold me the truck. They knew about it because it had been turned back in as a lemon with a Cash and Keep deal. They did not fix the issue and turned around and sold me the truck. A great deal! They said. They even called me a liar when I told them it was a lemon and asked them to make it right. Would highly recommend not purchasing a vehicle from this dealership and absolutely not having your vehicle serviced there. They say they fix things and they do not. They cover up things. Crooked operation.

      Thank you for the inquiry, we have fully reviewed this claim. The vehicle scan report had no codes when we did the used vehicles recon. All available recalls had been fully completed before the purchase of the Ram 2500. In addition, this vehicle was never determined to be a "lemon" as defined by statute or by the manufacturer. We never said they lied, we said the information was incorrect and inaccurate. We have reached out to the customer and tried to find a resolution. We have tried to find a way to trade their vehicle that is causing the concern for a new Ram. However, the customer is not interested in this resolution.

      This dealership is under new ownership. The new owner has engaged in "failure to disclose material factors" about vehicles that are sold.In this case, the sales staff hid the fact that the battery was failing, causing issues with the starter.When I noted the issue, on the first morning that I started it at home, James River performed a "diagnostics check" on the vehicle, stating everything was ok. They lied.I took the vehicle to a dealer for this vehicle type; they identified that the battery was faulty. It was clear that James River knew about this and concealed this information.Attempts to speak to dealership staff have been fruitless. All courtesy ceases once you walk out of their door.I recommend against doing business with James River Chrysler Jeep Eagle Dodge.
