CHECKIN Dog on 11-02-22 at 10:10a: because she was not eating, vomiting, Diarrhea. Was inform possible kidney failure. Pet enter in urgent care . Was told need to hospitalize pet to flush kidney. I understand my dog in urgent stress but she did not pass due to kidney failure the staff incompetent with the Nasogastric Placement & Feeding which caused lungs being filled with fluid . Received called at 11:46pm that issue occurred and my dog was bleeding from nose and lungs accidentally filled with fluid. Oxygen level decreased and her heart has stopped and she began breathing again on her own. 3 hrs later my dog heart stop. Got another call from Dr B___ and he gave info regarding complications last night with my dog. I informed him I was told that my dog basically suffocated from the feeding tube being mis place in the lungs not in stomach. He did not denied just that it must be an issue with her lungs. But my dog has been coming to this hospital every year for 12 years with my pet. After paying over $1100+ and request I got completed files 3x I was sent a incomplete file and notes indicated I info on conversation with the overnight vet regarding fluid in lungs due to feed tube being misplaced. Also noted in file no doctors was available when issue occur over night . Staff noted on file “Code ran by J ____ and L ___ and no doctor present.” They covering up the error and try to say it was a hidden issue with her lungs. Which is not true, not noted when admitting in at 10:15am , not noted in exam nor any conversation when full physical evaluation was done. This is an unethical place to send your pet if they have an urgent/ emergency. They are covering up how they treat animals and I wish I took my pet to another hospital. I’m requesting full refund . I signed paperwork that I will pay if treatment did not work but it’s not right if the staff caused the fatal death due to lack of Oxygen and feeding tube was place in error in the lungs not in stomach.

Pet owners should either stay away from Webster Groves Animal Hospital on Big Bend or question everything they do and get specific details and get options. Do NOT believe everything they tell you. Just because they are supposed to be taking care of pets does not mean they are gentle or take into consideration the age or condition of your pet. Find out from them what bad result could happen, all of them. Find out what it costs and if the bill is cancelled if they kill your pet after assuring you your pet would be better in 24 hours but died in less than 24 hours. It is so sad to lose a pet that you have had for almost twenty years and even sadder to know that you could have saved your pet from being traumatized and dying from being treated by irresponsible people. No One ever told us that our pet might die or that the treatment might be too harsh for her. Another pet died from their lack of care and mishandling in the past. It is so sad to know your pet depended on you protecting them from pain and death but you did not. Guard your pet. Find a good vet,please.w
