I submitted a complaint on 8/17 regarding *** ***** ******* **** ********* ********; complaint ID- ********. This complaint was sent to ******* * ****** ******* Home (which I was told by the cemetery that ******* ** ****** ******* home were the owners). ******* ** ****** responded that they do not own the *** ***** ******** and it is owned by Cemetery Consulting Group. The website for this company indicate the registered agent is ******* ******** ****** ** and the address listed is **** ***** ***** *** *** ***** *** ***** June 19, 2023 I went to *** ***** ******** (owned by Cemetery Consulting Group, LLC) to visit my dad and stepmom grave. when I arrived I noticed that the date of death for my stepmom was missing and there was damage to the side of the headstone. I called the cemetery on 6/20 and reported it to a lady ********. She was going to check it out and get back with me. I waited about a week and she did not call me back, so I called her back on 6/27. She still needed to check with the grounds keepers.So she called me back that day telling me they are not responsible for that damage and she does not know what happen to it but they are not responsible. She told me to email her a pic of the damage which | downloaded in this compliant, a before and after pic) and she would follow up with the manager/owner. I sent her the pic on 6/27/23. I had not heard back from her so l called her on 8/16/23. She told me she had not heard back from the manger/owner. I told her thank you and hung up...she called back and left a message on my voicemail giving me the number for owner (************). I have tried to resolve this issue with them and they refuse to get back with me and work out a resolution. When I called the ************..the person that answered the phone identified the business as ******* * ******.Business response

I am in possession of the complaint filed. I have examined the photos sent by the complainant. I do see any damage to the headstone and as to the date(year) missing from the headstone. The cemetery does not have any responsibility in replacing an item such as this. We can't be held liable for theft of name plates, date plates as we are not responsible for such items. If there was damage to a headstone and the cemetery was responsible, then that would be a different situation. However, when a family chooses this type of headstone, it's the family's liability that things like this could happen. I'm so sorry that this happened, however the cemetery isn't liable for missing plates.
