The incident occurred October 28th. I received an invitation to learn about retirement and working with Belger Financial Group. The invitation stated that the desired age group was over 40. I called to reserve my spot and confirm that there would be no issue since I was younger than 40. I was told there would be no issue. When I arrived, there was a big issue. **** Belger asked me and my guest to leave because they had overbooked and were filming the presentation so we would not "fit the look." I told him that I had confirmed my invitation earlier, and he said that this was not the case. He said that he would go back and listen to the confirmation and then send us a gift card for the mistake. As of 4 weeks later, we have still had no communication from **** or the group. The conversation was cordial with **** offering to help my guest and I in our own retirement needs through trading stocks and cryptocurrencies. Neither myself nor my guest had alluded to either before he mentioned it. The gesture was appreciated, but no follow-through was attempted. I believe that the bureau should look into advertising practices employed by the group as they may be misleading or designed to take advantage of particular age groups (namely older wealthy people). I also am seeking the promised compensation for the mistake made by the group and the time and energy that the mistake took from me. Attached is the confirmation for the event. We also received a confirmation from the group via phone where I explicitly stated that I was under 40. A third confirmation was sent the day before.Business response

Hello Mr. *****,
I, ****** *******, am the Client Relations Manager and personally spoke with you to qualify you and your brother for the event. When I asked you what you and your brother's ages were, you stated you were 60 years old, and your guest was at least 40 years old. The mailer sent to your mailing address was meant for your mother, ******** *****, to attend our events, not the entire household. We send out these mailers specifically for people 5-10 years from retirement or already retired. When you and your brother showed up at our event, we found out that you both were under age 30 and impersonated as someone older when we initially spoke. We have processes and procedures that we have to follow.
As explained on our mailers, "We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to rescind your reservation; and Please no attendees under the age of 40." Belger Financial Group is "a retirement planning firm offering insurance solutions to help our clients meet their unique retirement planning needs. We do not offer tax, investment or legal advice."
In the future, you will no longer receive any other mailers or information from our office since we have updated our mailing list to make sure you do not obtain any future mailers from our office. If you would like to discuss further, please feel free to contact our office. Thank you.
