The contractor holds my $15,000 deposit and has made no repairs, supplement claims are unresolved and he and his *** dont return my calls. More than 7 months ago we signed a contract. The storm season is here and I still have a damaged roof. I called I & E Construction (***) on 2/28/2024 and asked for an estimate to repair the damage from the 9/26/2023 hail storm. With the insurance's initial estimate of damages, the *** *** provided an estimate to remove & replace(R&R) the roof, the gutters, downspouts, and a few other items. He said that after we signed a contract on the listed items he would contact a subcontractor to estimate R&R for the windows and sunrooms. The contract would be updated and a ****************** date would be scheduled when the insurance company responds to the supplement claims. On 3/4/24, we agreed to the terms and a $15,000 deposit. The *** *** said he works directly with insurance.The subcontractor provided an estimate to the *** *** of $90331 for R&R of 2 sunrooms and 8 windows. I was told that according to the subcontractor, replacement windows were no longer available for these sunrooms. Therefore, the sunrooms need to be replaced. This estimate was included as a supplement claim item in a proposal sent to the insurance company on 5/17/2024 but no explanation or proof to back up the claim was provided. Any insurance claim requires proof to back it up. The insurance company responded to me on the proposal on 6/4/2024 and declared all items in the proposal unwarranted except for 1 item on the size of the downspouts. I forwarded this info to the *** ***. ** this time no work has been scheduled and no outstanding supplement claims have been resolved. Since proof has not been provided to back up the claims, I lost, **** lost, and insurance won.I request that the *** return my deposit of $15,000 and the canceled contract so I may hire a contractor to do the work.Business response

We have been trying to reach out to the homeowner and he has been unresponsive. We have left several messages with no answer. We have been in contact with the insurance company but they are not doing their part in reaching out to the homeowner.
