  I hired Eastwood Excavation LLC to build a **** sq ft retaining wall. The wall varied in height from 0 to 20 ft. It was completed on July 25, 2022. On August 22, 2022 the wall began to split apart and lean toward my house. Mr. ********************** came out to see the issue (multiple times) and agreed it needed to be taken down and rebuilt in order to install footers that were not installed. The wall is U shaped and the corners had no footers placed under them. The result was that the corner sections started leaning in opposite directions and pulling the wall apart. There are also multiple other issues with how the wall was constructed including a total lack of soil/fill compaction, and no drainage infrastructure installed. The wall does not have the proper strength Geo Grid installed, and what is installed, is installed incorrectly leaving it incapable of supporting the structure. Mr ********************** told us he would put a claim into his insurance company since his work was insured. The resulting claim was denied by the insurance company who said he did not have coverage for work completed. I have tried to communicate with him but he keeps saying he's waiting for the insurance company to review their decision. He has told us multiple times he would come out and repair the issues, but doesn't show up. Mr. ********************** clearly stated the wall needed to be replaced.In the meantime, we had to pay another contractor to take the wall down so it wouldn't damage our house when it fell. A Structural Engineer and 3 other contractors all reviewed the wall and agreed it would fall. The excavation and construction of the wall combined with the removal costs is in the 6 digit range. I have offered to negotiate a financial resolution but he has not responded to that offer.I have many pictures and videos of the wall being built and being removed. (They are all larger than the 5Mb limit below). I also have all receipts from the build including from Eastwood Excavation LLC.

  No they have not. Their only response was "I don't have $50,000." They actually cost ** $101,000. I have talked to an attorney and suing will cost me another $10,000-20000 depending on trial type.
