Hired Abacus Tax LLC as my Tax accountant for my **************** leased to ************* Springfield Mo. Each quarter by word of mouth they would call via telephone informing me of a proposed dollar amount that I owed to State and Federal. I have made numerous attempts to acquire my tax worksheet calculations from them. They have refused to furnish documents despite receiving my money. I have paid for tax services from April 2022 thru Dec 2022. I need my quarterly tax statements from them and even asked for my tax return. I was told they didn't prepare my tax return and was sent an email with a dollar amount stating a proposed tax tax debt amount. This is very unprofessional and unethical to take money and don't provide services advertised. There were no issues when they recruited myself and other new drivers. If you have done my quarterly taxes then you should have no problem releasing my documents so I can turn in .

In 2022, ********** enrolled in our services, and during our initial communication, we thoroughly explained each service she would receive, to which she agreed. We have attempted to reach ********** via phone and email but have been unable to leave a voicemail and have not received a response. ********** emailed Abacus a monthly income statement. When she was enrolled in Abacuss tax and accounting services, monthly income statements were not part of the services she was enrolled in. Abacus prepared the 2nd 4th quarter recommended quarterly estimated tax amounts for ********** in 2022. We provided those recommended quarterly estimated tax amounts via email.

On April 25, our team member ***** sent ********** the copies of the documentation we used to calculate quarterly estimate amounts for 2022 via a sharefile link through email. This documentation included 2022 weekly settlements & a 2022 operating statement. We use a weekly average of the revenue & expenses from these documents to create a projected estimate amount for each quarter. We do not report to the *** or a state department of revenue for these quarterly estimates. These are personalized estimate amounts projected off income and expenses.

If ********** needs additional services, we are here to help.

I am rejecting this response because:
Abacus has an office located inside ********* *********************  Each week they hold a presentation telling all new hirees how important it is to hire an Accountant to handle their taxes.  They told me among others how they will do our taxes quarterly or monthly and deduct the fees from our weekly settlement . Ensuring us that we would be covered by them in case of an audit. I haven't received no documentation from them.  All I have received is an email stating my proposed amount and another file that can't be opened.  I would have never signed up for services if I was told they didn't do taxes.  From their response it's very clear misrepresentation is being held and need to be investigated.

      Sincerely,

      *********************************

When ********** enrolled in our services in 2022, we explained that she was not required to file taxes with the *** quarterly. We also explained that we would provide her with recommended quarterly estimated tax amounts each quarter. We used a weekly average of the revenue & expenses from the client's weekly settlements and out-of-pocket expenses she provided to create a projected estimated amount for each quarter. We do not report to the *** or a state department of revenue for these quarterly estimates. These are personalized estimate amounts projected off income and expenses. ********** sent Abacus CPAs monthly income statements prepared for her by another accounting firm. She requested that we send her similar statements for 2022. We let her know that Abacus CPAs was not engaged to prepare monthly income statements for her, as that was out of the scope of the initial services she engaged with, but that we can help her with additional services if she would like to engage Abacus CPAs to do so.

Abacus CPAs has not misrepresented the services offered to **********. We were transparent about our services during her onboarding and throughout her enrollment with Abacus CPAs. During **********'s onboarding, we explained that we would begin preparing her 2022 tax return once she sent us the information needed to prepare this tax return. ********** agreed to this during her onboarding. The required information included a 2022 tax organizer, which we showed could be accessed on our website. ********** did not fill out this organizer or provide the necessary information to prepare her 2022 tax return. We attempted to contact her several times via phone and email.Still, since ********** did not provide the required information to prepare her 2022 tax return, Abacus CPAs could not prepare her return.

Paid company for most thorough accounting services. Turned in requested documents for this past 4th quarter tax payment. Left the company I was with, that required their service, 2 days after quarter deadline. Not only did they not provide the service I paid them for, but they have continued to refuse to provide this information/service, causing my business's state and federal tax payments to become delinquent. Neither have they tried to provide any recompense or resolution. Just stopped performing their contractual duties and ignore my attempts to resolve this issue.

Abacus has deducted at least $23 weekly from my paycheck me since November 2019. They even deduct as much as $100 some pay weeks. For these deductions one service provided is preparing and filing my taxes. They have prepared my 2020 taxes and now want to charge me more money to file. I have paid this company over $2000 dollars of my hard earned money and they want more money for a job I've already paid them to do by making up rules as they go. Now they hold my taxes hostage demanding more money to complete. 1/19/2022 I told them I no longer want to do business with them. They have yet to send me anything to cancel but Im sure they will get paid this pay period as well. They are crooks and just stealing from me at this point. I just want them to do the job I paid them to do or refund my money and I'll pay someone else.
